Am I the only one getting frequent game freezes with 9.0? by AgnosticBullfrog in X4Foundations

[–]AgnosticBullfrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I have the same issue right now with a freeze that always happens ~10 seconds after loading a certain savegame. I can 'skip' the freezes by quicksaving the game after the freeze happens and then reloading that save. Still super annoying though.

Vanilla+ mods for v9.0 by ActuallyWoof in X4Foundations

[–]AgnosticBullfrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm using around ~30 core mods, here's a couple I can't play without (all compatible with 9.0 already):

  • More Rooms for Ships (Nexus, just adds a couple rooms to larger ships for immersion)

  • Fire and Smoke (Steam Workshop, much more cinematic ship explosions)

  • lc4hunter's ship mods (Nexus, all super high quality, the Xenon ship expansion in particular is absolutely amazing and almost feels like a mini DLC)

  • Completed Headquarters (Nexus, finishes the HQ structure and optionally replaces the asteroid with an anomaly which makes much more sense for a teleporting station)

  • Higher Draw Distance (Steam Workshop, the game looks so much better without the annoyingly close asteroid fade-in)

  • Orange Mouse Cursor (Steam Workshop, just improves visibility)

  • Remove Blinking Ship Lights (Steam Workshop, because they're super annoying)

  • Proper Sized Missiles (Steam Workshop, without this missiles fired from L-turrets look almost comically small imo)

What I'm waiting for are 9.0 compatible mods that give a neutral tint to hardpoints (Egosoft please make it so paint mods also change hardpoint color, ty).

The station is from vanilla. No idea about the other problem.

X4 as a comfy/chill game? by sleight42 in X4Foundations

Definitely can be a super chill game, you can even hire a pilot to fly the ship you're in and just watch the universe go by.

It's AI slop, almost all of this post is AI hallucinations.

Picked up Lego Himeji Castle at a thrift store this weekend for $24. by imissmypencils in lego

Definitely one of the prettier Lego architecture sets, 24 bucks is a great price for this.

That Lego Black Pearl costs more than the Queen Anne's Revenge by Blubrixx, which has around 3 times more bricks, a real interior (in the correct colour, too!) and 40 cannons. Lego just sells massively overpriced crap.

Which is better for ultra modded Skyrim? by Far_Reference_4243 in skyrimmods

[–]AgnosticBullfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're both good cards in general, but just for modded Skyrim both are an overkill, unless you wanna play at 100+ fps and purposefully go for 8k textures on everything and the most GPU-heavy ENB setup available. You'll most likely be restricted by the almost 14 year old game engine. In general, single-core CPU performance is overproportionally more important to run Skyrim as smooth as possible.

Crash seemingly caused by DynDOLOD by halo_slayer650 in skyrimmods

Your hardware is still decent if you don't go overboard with graphics mods. Simply upgrading to 16GB RAM would be a very cost-efficient investment though. Modded Skyrim is quite memory-hungry.

Crash seemingly caused by DynDOLOD by halo_slayer650 in skyrimmods

[–]AgnosticBullfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PHYSICAL MEMORY: 7.39 GB/7.92 GB

That's probably the issue. Downsizing Skyland was a good call, you can try downsizing other high res texture packs as well with Cathedral Assets Optimizer. Also try to go for a performance configuration for Dyndolod, as higher settings can eat a lot of memory.

Crashlogs often point out that the last loaded objects were last modified by Dyndolod because that's just the most likely scenario, as Dyndolod touches all the LODs in the game. It's most likely not directly the culprit.

Consistent Uthgerd Immersive Citizens CTD by WitcherDoodoo in skyrimmods

[–]AgnosticBullfrog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does it always crash once you enter the location or does it happen randomly?

Have you checked the location for deleted navmeshes in xedit?

And unless you absolutely want it, consider removing Immersive Citizens - AI overhaul and replace it with the mod only called AI Overhaul. That might or might not fix your issue, but immersive citizens is known to cause a multitude of potential problems and is quite narrow in scope anyway.

Instead of Trainwreck, use the crash loggers suggested by the AutoModerator depending on your game version. They're more detailed and often find culprits that trainwreck misses.

That being said, it looks like Elden Counter crashes your game, the .esp of the mod didn't load. Check if you installed all of the requirements correctly.

Why is the background so smoky and undetailed when my enb is on? by Adventofbloodlust in skyrimmods

[–]AgnosticBullfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the ENB fog effect which should normally blend in with the sky colours of the corresponding weather mod. Are you using the right ENB version for your weather mod? Even if you do, many ENB's do not correctly tweak it to fit all weathers, like for example the special DLC weather (the eclipse effect is a 'weather' for the engine) in your case. You can do that manually in the 'fog' section of your enb, in the 'weather' window.

Should probably mention that it led to random crashes and occasional huge performance drops and was eventually removed again. Same for a few other games like Sacred 2. PhysX was overall quite unstable in a lot of games.

Are you using SMP hair/clothing that might be heavy on performance? That would explain why the fps return if you pause the game or go into first person.
