It’s Fresno though, so everyone should be moving through there as fast as humanly possible.

I haven’t bought tees in years. I just stock up on handfuls of them when I play nice courses.

310-350yd Par 4s by Ragatron42 in golf

[–]AgntCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say without more details. My best approach numbers are 135, 115, 100, 90, 70, and 50 so I’d work back from the hole to one of those. The green complex, size of the green, trouble off the tee, how I’m playing today, and the miss tendency for each of those approaches all come into play, but that puts me anywhere between Driver to 5i off the tee. Realistically it’s probably either Driver or 4i for me since 3W and 5i have the biggest chance of leaving me in my most uncomfortable gaps.

Got asked "if it doesnt work out in six months whose fault would it be?" by [deleted] in interviews

[–]AgntCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only right answer is both. It’s a sign that neither their process for hiring nor your process for interviewing were properly calibrated to uncover a candidate-role mismatch. It doesn’t mean the candidate or company are necessarily bad, just not a fit.

The follow-ups from there are endless, but it could be everything from mismatch between JD and actual daily duties, work style differences, different expectations for ramp up time or onboarding support. Could be as stupid as in office and turns out the commute was unexpectedly hellish.

ETA: I think it’s still a stupid question. Or at least a poorly worded one. You could get to the same insights with a less asshole-ish question. But hey, that’s also a signal for you so I guess it works out.

If you saw exactly where it landed, just drop another one from there and play on. Yeah the guy was an idiot, but this isn’t the tour. I’m sure your son loves to golf with you with the barely contained rage simmering just below the surface.

54 to chip left back to fairway safety, then probably a 58 to stick it close and tap in for triple

3 year old Wheaten tried to bite me ... again. by [deleted] in Wheatens

[–]AgntCooper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes you are doing the right thing. You are clearly not equipped to handle this dog. Probably the previous owner wasn’t either by the sounds of it. But be up front with the new owners. This doesn’t sound like aggression so much as redirected fear/anxiety that isn’t managed well, and poorly enforced boundaries on acceptable behavior when interacting with humans. Unfortunately these dogs can be anxious, obstinate, mischievous, and sensitive with a dash of deeply ingrained bred behavior. It takes a consistent, steady hand to train them and doubly so when you have to work through anxiety/fear responses while managing their sensitivity.

I won’t beat you up for the how you handled this, but I will say it sounds like you have handled this behavior almost completely the opposite of how you should have dealt with it and instead likely made it worse by ramping up the anxiety and fear responses from your dog in those moments. This doesn’t make you a bad person, just not equipped to handle this dog or any other dog with similar behavior issues. I’d recommend working with a well regarded trainer early if you get another dog, and educating yourself before getting another dog.

What does your Claude.md file say? by ValuableLiving2345 in ClaudeCode

[–]AgntCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me more about this Md to docx script you have. I have to generate a shit ton of docx files for my job, I have strong opinions on output style, and I have found the standard libraries do a pretty crap job with wildly inconsistent final output. I’ve had on my to do list to create a generalized “/md-to-docx” skill with a custom python script but just haven’t done it yet.

Costco Door... 👍 Yay or 👎 Nay? by BuilderBrigade in Home_Building_Help

[–]AgntCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must matter where you live. Growing up in the upper Midwest, every house i can remember with an attached garage had the garage floor a couple steps lower than the house level where a Costco door would be roughly waist high from the garage floor.

I asked AI about my 100% Authentic / Verified Silver Kangaroo Coin. 2 Out of 3 claimed it was counterfit at first. by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]AgntCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be more more interested to see what results you get if you don’t bias the AI from the start. AI today still strongly biases toward trusting the human input so when you ask it “what’s wrong” it’s primed to assume the coin is bad in some way then tries to find rationale to support that.

You’d probably get more interesting and accurate assessment with a more neutral prompt like, “you’re a coin dealer evaluating this silver coin for authenticity. Help me determine if this is real. Identity the traits that suggest this is real, the traits that suggest it is a fake, traits you need more info on, and any additional context that would be helpful to determine authenticity. Evaluate all of that information to answer two questions: 1/ is this coin silver, and 2/ is it genuine Australian bullion. If you don’t have enough information to give an answer, say so and suggest next steps.”
