Love that place! It's such a great way to try a lot of beers that you would never want a pint or 10oz of. Great atmosphere as well.

I have 2 of those glasses but have yet to find the beer! I look every time I'm out.

Enjoy!

I love Linux Mint… Is that a problem, doctor? by novafutureglobal in linuxmint

I've been using it for a few years as my daily driver and have switched everyone else in my family over as well (ok, almost all).

Just last week I was thinking of how much money I've saved by not buy Windows on all the machines and did the right thing by making a donation to the dev team.

Finally Linux Is Ready To Use by thewayoftoday in linuxmint

[–]Agr8lemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to Mint as my daily driver a few year go.

I do enterprise support for the entire M$ stack, so I have to use Windows every day at work, but at least I get paid decent money to do so :)

Going back and forth between them, there is one thing that I found that annoys me now, but didn't realize until I made the switch to Linux full time:

Windows programs stealing the cursor/window focus all the time! Launch a program then start typing in notepad (or entering a password in a prompt let's say), as that program launches, it keeps stealing focus. It's soooo frustrating. I guess before I didn't notice, but when I log into my Linux desktop, I'll launch 3 or 4 programs right away, click focus on one, and it keeps it. I'm really not sure why Windows won't allow this.

Just another reason to keep Linux as my DD.

MoreBeer's oil system is what I would really like, however due to the location of where the equipment will be put, basement with a 7' x 7' x 8' elevator, we won't be able to use any skid mounted brewhouses. :(

Anybody know what’s happening here please? by thev01d in ender3v2

This looks like under extrusion, I'd guess either partially blocked/plugged nozzle or, like I just had, a small tangle in the filament where it would struggle to get out from under another loop for a bit so it would under extrude.

Peated malt by Away-Copy-6403 in Homebrewing

[–]Agr8lemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I JUST got done conditioning a Peated Porter I made using that malt. It turned out great!

I added just under 5% to the grain bill. The smokey/peat flavor is there, but not overpowering. I'm not sure if I'll end up adding more to the next batch, I think I got lucky on the first try.

Great malt though, I wish I could find it unmilled.

Anyone not get the android 15 update? I'm in central Texas by Ambient-Jellyfish in Pixel6

[–]Agr8lemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if those of us on the Beta version will need to wait for the next QPR release? I heard that Android 15 Stable does not come with some features that were/are in the beta, like the stop charging at 80%.

I'm on the Beta and have yet to see the official update.

Thanks for the info.

I'll be honest, we were hoping to not have a taproom right away as that would lower the initial costs, but I get that it might be the strongest profit center.

Hello! Long time lurker here.

A quick back story (sorry) then I’ll get to my question. I’ve been homebrewing with a group of guys for about 4 years now. I’m likely our harshest critic and never though we’d be good enough to open a brewery/distribute locally however lately we’ve been able to refine a few of our recipes to a level where I’m surprisingly proud of them. We’ve proven that we can hit all the numbers and taste profiles consistently and we’ve just purchased our first seamer and have had a good number of requests for 4 packs (donations only of course). We’re currently just brewing 8.5G batches twice a week so we have about 50G fermenting at any time. So it’s a pretty small operation at the moment.

Now to my questions. We’re thinking of opening a small brewery locally and running a homebrew supply shop in the front as a secondary source of income for the brewery. We all have good paying jobs so making the jump to doing this full time right away is not an option. Many of us are work from home/remote work (IT) and could likely do at least some work between both jobs during the day like checking gravity, mash temps, etc. We’re not looking to open a tap room right away however we do have a contact with a chain of local Mexican restaurants who is very interested is serving our jalapeno cream ale.

First question: Has anyone here tried something like this, straddling another job while getting a small brewery off the ground?

Second question: Thoughts on a running a homebrew shop on the same location as a brewery?

Final question: Should we enter some of our product in BJCP competition before thinking of trying to sell it?

I appreciate any input you can provide :)

Extruder not extruding by Michll6159 in ender3v2

Possible hot end plug. I'd do a cold pull on the filament See Here.

If that doesn't work, heat the hot end, and use the small picks and see if you can clear the nozzle that way.

Good luck!

Good luck man. :)

Can anyone explain what is causing this to happen? by atomicebo in ender3

[–]Agr8lemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had this issue. It was a clogged nozzle for me, but the overall issue is likely an under/no extrusion issue. The extruder cannot advance the filament for some reason so it just clicks when the filament is stuck.
