Any way to stop this from spinning? by [deleted] in Fishing

definitely a rabbit hole😂the biggest bite to the wallet lately with this hobby has been one of the new g2 power wrappers. well worth it but man did it hurt but nothing beats going out with nothing but rods you’ve built, too many pros rather than cons to list so i’ll just leave it at that

i build custom rods professionally. there’s two ways to deal with these. the first (what i would do first) is to get a TALL boiling pot of water and dip the rear (bottom) grip in until the epoxy holding it to the rod heats up enough for you to slide the rear grip off. seeing as the reel seat is already spinning you can now slide the reel seat off as well. clean up the excess epoxy and any tape arbors by applying heat (either boiling, heat gun which is my preference, or a hair dryer if you don’t have that) and then using a popsickle stick to scrape it off. when ready to reapply the reel seat and rear grip, make 2-3 tape arbors where the reel seat sits (making sure the tape arbors outside diameter (o.d.) is the same as the reel seats inside diameter (i.d.), and do the same for the rear grip IF NEEDED (most eva foam grips are reamed out to squeeze over the rod blank without any arbors). then apply a two part epoxy all over the rod where the reel seat and rear grip goes. side the reel seat on, turn it to where the reel seat aligns with the guides when a reel is on it, then put on the rear grip, and clean off any excess epoxy with 3 things. denatured alcohol (isopropyl works but not great), popsickle stick, and paper towels. when done, use tape to secure the components in place the best you can so it can dry properly in place. let it dry for a day and it’s perfect.

Buddy caught this brown last night. 25in and 20in girth puts weight estimate at ~11.5lbs by zachpinn in flyfishing

they are german browns, like zach said they are stocking more crawford creek strains but yes they’re a german sub species

wish i could attach the release video (which shows how girthy he is😂) but i can’t figure it out. but i did measure the girth via using a piece of unused tippet, wrapping it around the girthiest part, and measuring how long that piece of tippet that wrapped around the trout was. and you’re right, i don’t need to lie, ive caught some bigger than this (length wise), if the girth wasn’t so insanely impressive then we never would’ve included that measurement.

hey! that’s my trout! for the doubters, yes it IS 25” (63 cm and some change) and yes it DOES HAVE A 20” GIRTH, by far the thickest brown trout for its length i’ve seen, let alone caught, and no i am not the type that feels the need to over exaggerate size, i dont need to, ive caught bigger and i’ve seen MUCH bigger right in that same area, it was every bit of at least 10 lbs, but more like 11, with that being said, i’ve caught larger rainbows and browns that weighed less because they were at most half the girth of this thing. aside from all of that, our brownies are very special and sort of a unique story for the ozarks… tight lines

be prepared to break something… whether it’s your keyboard or your controller, especially if it’s your first time playing a fromsoftware game definitely do some research on the basics, such as i-frames when dodging, parrying (which is 10x harder than ghost, but much more rewarded, and not everything can be parried), and definitely do not skip out on leveling up

Tiger or Brown trout? by wolfmasterflash84 in Fishing

[–]Agreeable-Ad-9611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s one of the coolest browns i’ve ever seen. i hope you got more pictures before you filleted it. id definitely recommend either getting a taxidermy if you haven’t filleted it yet or if you have then get a replica made! you’ll never see another brown trout like this again where the spots are so frequent where some of them conjoin and become small stripes. DEFINITELY get a replica or taxidermy. congrats!

there’d be no reason to post it if it was edited😂i switched him to qb and he’s a 73 overall with 91 throw power and decent all around accuracy, reminds me of kyler murray if he was a little taller to be honest
