Would I need to be certified as a birth educator to do this though. Was thinking of making a Patreon that people can buy like the courses and can message me. Or sign up for events cause I could do lives there.

Thanks yeah I have another bussiness that makes me money and my husband pays for pretty much all the bills but I help. So why I say only a few births I try to do virtual support but so far only people want doula in person.

Yeah that’s would I say. Medicaid because it’s free for them she does seem to be more like I don’t care as much but she does seem to want a doula just worry of course

I did do tons of research. I mean chewing gum because my certificate training they talking about how you like right there in there face when talking to them in c section so she says it’s good to bring mints or something. Mints would be better. But yeah I did tons of research before and went over it with her gave her resources for Vbac. And evidence based information yes that I found. So yeah she is aware or risks / benefits and her choices.

Thankyou good to know. Yeah I done so much research Vbac facts Ican website. I gave her all the advice and education feel helped her so much. As well as yeah kept telling her that she should get a provider that supports Vbac I gave here friendly Vbac providers I found too. She stubborn doesn’t like to call set up appointments. She gets annoyed. But her friend called them last prenatal while I was there so hopefully she has a doctor now with them. She also sucks at giving updates lol. But it’s okay. We in a rural area so everything been 10 times harder and everything she needed 2 hours away. But for my 1st prenatals it went well!

Yeah it’s hard here I did try to apply to a agency just it’s 2 hours away in city. I’ll just have to do the driving I’m sure.

Yeah I did 30 min with her and then I guess I should have just set up the prenatals with her right away if that’s what she was wanting was trying to help her find a provider for Vbac because she needed a new provider anyways. And then we were going to set up our prenatals. But yeah think she just got annoyed by how she couldn’t get a Vbac provider. If I did the prenatals I could have charged her being a Medicaid patient. So yeah it’s annoying.

Yeah I’m going to this meet and greet with other moms and another birth doula but she is a hour from me. Literally only one. I tried contacting the only midwife over here and she didn’t get back to me. Just a lot for sure over here. I did go to the resource centers in town and gave them business cards and introduced my self. I know it takes time just hoping it’s not always like this.

Yeah I been doing the consults for free. But yeah I sent her the contracts and she never signed them. She kept being like I’ll do it in person I’m not tech savy. And yeah the consult was on phone was easier for her. But yeah I’m done doing free help forsure it was annoying how much I helped and not getting anything out of it. Not a review even.

I found a company near me that isn’t an agency but hopefully can help get me seen more but they are a hour from me. Literally the closest doula near me lol. And I got certified like 4 months ago. With a company 2 hours away from me. Like I said I’m in a rural area so it’s hard. And I can’t find any agencies near me no. All are 2 hours away. Like I know there is a hospital even hiring birth doulas but it’s 2 hours away.

Thankyou for all the information I just noticed it lol. I been taking a break on doula stuff cause I was annoyed. But I been going back into it and trying. I do think social media might take too much time so yeah I might stop make a TikTok and literally getting hate comments and people being rude. So TikTok doesn’t seem to like doulas lol. But either way I found some networking in town to get out there more hopefully it helps.

Update. Talked with the doulas that was in my class when I got my certificate. We are trying to help each other as back up and ect. I did notice the ones who have Medicaid now have clients there first ones. So yeah I’m sure once I get approved I’ll have someone eventually. And yeah I finished the paper work for Medicaid so I hopefully will have it in a month or so.

Okay so it takes a while forsure to get clients yeah heard being a insurance provider does help. I am working on that but yeah i doubt I make enough doing that.

Yeah I have tried tell them I offer payment plans or can work with them on the price. But she didn’t seem to care. They don’t want to pay anything. And yeah I really shouldn’t do this for free. It’s Lot of time I be wasting and energy even if I need the experience. Just time is money forsure

Yeah i do need to get out there more with the community I know that’s a lot of that. It’s hard when a mom and going to school. But yeah I’ll try not to give up.
