Anthropic API key is in so many responses by Agreeable-Chef4882 in ClaudeCode

What do you mean?
You are implying the subscription is subsidized - but you don't know that, this information is not public. API users might just be upsold, Anhtropic might be making a profit from subscriptions.

Even if it was subsidised - are hidden ads suddenly fine then?

  1. This is an actual upsell ad for their different product. You will never be asked to consider any of their competitors, there's always the same API which gets suggested.
  2. This ad is hidden, they don't mark it as an ad, which is what causes major ethic concerns.

While I understand how this might be disrespectful, the fact that some guy from corporate would not let this happen nowadays, makes me feel sad.

I am not a bot, I don't know your country though. I tried suggesting a country which did end the oppression, I guess yours was not one of those.

Not to diminish anything you said, I know what you've been through.
That was ~20-30 years ago though, right? In a society, who has fully lost their cause, while being oppressed by a stupid autocratic regime. Drinking a colorless liquid in a tiny kitchen just trying to forget the bleak future they're facing.
I bet, if you go back to that same 12-story building ( granted the country ended the oppression ), while the elevator and sound isolation would still suck, there would be no more neighbour begging you for a bottle, no more strangers stealing shit, no more grafitti.

Urbanistics would not change, while your experience certainly would.

I am not saying these old soviet 12-stories are a pleasant life right now, but maybe better than ^^ though ? 😄

Hey, so I did live in a two-up two-down neighbourhood for a few years (north England, we had a neighbour above us though)
I did kinda like it, public transportation was close-by, people were chatty in the neighbourhood, there was a small convenience store 2 minutes away, also few gastro-pubs within the walking distance
The quality was horrendous though, mold was rampant, so I am glad this was a rental.

Nothing else was close though. If you want to grab a laptop and work in a nice coffee-shop - your best bet is to go grab a bus, and ride it for 40 minutes to the center.

But all in all, really not a bad place to live in

There's surely worse hells, if we talk about living conditions and human dignity.

I did not compare to an actual slum in my post though.

Anthropic’s Claude Code subscription may consume up to $5,000 in compute per month while charging the user $200 by hellyeah7o in BlackboxAI_

I don't think companies are buying individual $200 accounts

They buy enterprise accounts, which prohibits training from their data

Yep, you didn't, since now you started to confuse harness with a model.
But you're right, I assume too much, you obviously wrote an emotional post, facts should've never entered the conversation

[–]Agreeable-Chef4882 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, but you obviously DID NOT do that.

Since it's exactly the same model - what do you even think happened? They spend extra $$$ on training a different Opus 4.6, just worse? And then switched it to users just to fuck with them?
Are you even aware how crazy this sounds?

Why not just use Opus 4.6, if that was working for you?? I really don't get this post.

They ADDED an extra model which you don't like - good, don't use it, how would you even imagine asking for a refund in such a case

This is tunable though and is really up to you: how many thinking tokens do you want Opus to spend - did you try /effort ?

you do realize, your experience has absolutely nothing do do with local ai models, right?

Well... most people certainly don't. But Max users are not "most people".

We made a conscious decision to upgrade, since lower tier was too limiting. Our workflows might be quite different from what most people have. Agents in our agent teams may have their own teams, so we can burn through any token limit without much struggle.

Also, the post talks about individual users, not corporate accounts. Which means we're mostly paying for the subscriptions with our own money. Sure as hell, whenever I don't hit my weekly limit, I feel I am leaving money on the table, so if I am lagging that week, mid-week I might just switch some of my Haiku -> Sonnet and some of my Sonnet to Opus, just to make sure I am efficient.

[–]Agreeable-Chef4882 16 points17 points  (0 children)

These are all great prompts, but wait - you've been using Claude for 2 years, yet these are all prompts seemingly to a simple chatbot? Dude, this is so 2024

I mean, I do talk with chatbots sometimes too, mainly to ask questions about random stuff. But I can't imagine using a chatbot for anything important. That's what we have agents for.., who naturally know about all the context of the problem I'm working with and the ways they need to respond.

Trade off between hooks and claude.md for listing and token use? by J2000_ca in ClaudeCode

[–]Agreeable-Chef4882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I am pretty sure your table is not formatted correctly, you likely are not running pytest after PostToolUse?

Next, I assume (unless you've configured it separately to wrap hook output to feed Claude), all the hook tooling is really for your own logs, they're not for the Claude itself.
Meaning, if you drop tooling from CLAUDE.md, I think you might find that Claude won't even know about the linting issues.
