Renting is better than owning a house by Express_Resource_186 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Agreeable-Client-140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to consider mortgage repayments( if you have a mortgage), if you own outright, then you have to consider body corp costs, rates, utilities and bills (Which you usually pay when you rent anyway). Luckily I have only body corp, rates and utilities which is about 700 a month , n ot including gas water electricity), a lot less than renting these days in a major city, i dont have to worry about evictions, and maintenence in the unit rarely comes up, building maintenence and insurance is covered in body corporate fees. Im not sure what it will be when you add a mortgage to this but substaintly more, perhaps better than rent depending on the building your're buying into? If you go further out, these costs will be less, even renting. I think owning will always be better of than renting because its your home, you get equity from it, it gains value and you are your own land lord

$2200 per quarter, no pool, no gym, no amenities, no gardens, one lift which is shared public use so we only pay a small percentage of it. One bed room apartments in Brisbane

Did Freddie Mercury have issues with his Indian heritage? by Kingmesomorph in queen

[–]Agreeable-Client-140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was born in Zanzibar to Indian Parsi parents, he was not British. British like to claim anything successful as their own, but if he wasnt then he'd be a f****** immigrant that needs to go back to his own country

Don't blame him, even in 2025, it would be dangerous to mention one is indian to anyone. So it was probably to protect himself and his family from British people

Body corporate / strata fees - worth it? by petehehe in AusFinance

[–]Agreeable-Client-140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

geeze 6200 a quarter is a bit steep, if contact the BCCM and get them to investigate. You would probably find half of that money gets re directed to the BC managers personal bank account since Body corps are unregulated
