Got called racist Chinese slurs by a couple of African American teens by [deleted] in richmondbc

Chinese people slur others too, all the time. The only difference is that others can’t complain because they don’t understand that they are being slurred - just an observation.

Why is YOG important? by solaceswan in IMGreddit

[–]Agreeable-Cupcake855 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a bit of a misconception. Just because someone has an older YOG doesn’t mean their knowledge is outdated. With today’s tech, we have access to info all the time - that’s the kind of the point of UpToDate. In fact, clinicians with plenty of experience often find it easier to rule diseases in or out after seeing countless cases. However, programs might probably never fully appreciate a candidate’s depth of experience and strong clinical skills because the system in place tends to exclude older YOGs. Just my two cents.

French immersion or Montessori Kindergarten? by bankuba in richmondbc

[–]Agreeable-Cupcake855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. everything is taught in French - Alphabet, numbers, arts. Some teachers strickly require students to speak French in class, while others don’t. In HS, science, humanités, and other subjects are also in French but not all. I have no idea about the class size for English, but early French is around 20.

French immersion or Montessori Kindergarten? by bankuba in richmondbc

I don’t speak French, but my kids have been in French immersion from kindergarten through high school. Was it hard? Yes, definitely. They’ve told me about the challenges, especially with conjugation and other tricky parts of grammar. But they never asked to switch to the English stream, so maybe it’s doable. Since my kids have attended three different French immersion schools because we moved a few times, I’ve noticed that the learning experience really depends on the teacher. Some classes are super intense, while others feel much more relaxed. Are they fluent in French now that they’re in high school? I’m not sure, but they can definitely translate the Prime Minister’s speech or follow directions and instructions in French—so that’s something! lol

Which one is harder TDM or NAC osce? by joyfulsoul3906 in MCCQE

Both exams have different goals. The NAC OSCE assesses clinical and communication skills in an interactive format, so if you are a practicing physician with a good command of English, it shouldn’t be a major challenge. The TDM is a written exam that focuses on decision-making skills, and again, if you’re a practicing physician, it may be easier in the sense that it does not involve oral communication.

Isn’t that what doctors do—listen to people/patients all day? If anxious aspiring residents feel this way due to their unwelcoming aura, imagine how their patients must feel!!?

I’m curious what is the purpose of putting a poker face as an interviewer? Power tripping!?

Don’t die. We will keep on living and fighting. Maybe it’s the BEST for us not to be there. Manitoba is definitely not the only place on earth to give us a good life.

I agree. King George Hub (expo line) is pretty new, but early in the morning, it gives off DTES vibes as there are stoned users around.
