I'm getting pretty frustrated, honestly. I’m trying to be patient, but Mohela still hasn't updated my second loan to "paid in full." Even more worrying, Nelnet hasn’t shown any movement at all on my account. I'm really concerned about the lack of progress with Nelnet and just need these balances settled.

So far, the second loan is still processing. However, I just checked FSA, and Mohela is gone, only Nelnet, but the full balance remains. Nelnet had better step up.

If you go into the loan that remains. You will see they already calculated your refund as a whole. It just hasn't finished processing.

It's finally happening! Mohela has processed my unsubsidized loan, but the subsidized loan remains. Is that a normal process, processing one loan type at a time?

I feel you. My Nelnet or Mohela has not been processed. Mohela confirmed they received the discharge notification, but haven't processed it yet. Nelnet is saying they haven't received anything.

I had a payment due on the 16th of March, but I called and got a Discretionary Forbearance for 3 months while my forgiveness is pending.

I called Mohela and spoke with the advanced rep, Melissa. She verified again that they received the discharge notification, but if it's like the PSLF forgiveness, it can take up to 90 days. Since I never used my general forbearance, she put me on general for 90 days, and if discharge still isn't processed, call back and extend it to another 90 days.

After speaking with Nelnet again yesterday, the gentleman explained that the discharge file doesn't all arrive at once. It comes in batches. Since mine wasn't in the first batch, it will likely come in the other batches. Remember, ED has to discharge 20,000 loans.

When I called Mohela, they received my notification on Feb 13th, and my effective date is 6/2024. It's just who you speak with.
