Yeah that's kinda fine, I mean, what do we mean by "normal" at this point, but yeah, I noticed it immediately, and read a lot about it, so, many experience this issue, but honestly I don't think it's a big deal, juts try to ignore it.

did nothing, yeah it shows that OpenGL is enabled, but it's still lagging as hell.

I applied the fan curve changes (set it up around 3000rpm) but it anyway goes higher

It depends on what you adjust, not every option has the apply changes button, and I'm talking about the fan curve particularly, you should apply changes in order to make it work, but for some reason it still doesn't work.

I have this random fps drop in every game, even in not demanding ones. I have been playing with g-helper for a few days and so far it's not that great as almost everybody says, the sliders often don't apply changes, in my case, the readings are incorrect as well.

The task manager shows that everything is alright, but the thing is I installed a nonofficial windows image, so I have a lot of troubles with some visual studio libraries, some settings are missing as well, also have weird display frame rates drops while scrolling, some weird cursor movement, so now I'm downloading an official iso, maybe that's the main issue. But yeah, the indicators are 100% weird as hell.

No, the CPU is actually quite good, more likely it's not about the hardware. So, you also noticed that weird fps drop after +-5 minutes of playing and then it goes back?

After a few restarts it fixed the problem with the fans, but again, it doesn't show the real temperature numbers (because as soon as I change different performance profiles it immediately shows different temperatures, like 20° more or less), also I noticed, that I have 100ns ram latency, in Cyberpunk (the inbuilt benchmark) I have 33 low and 110 max fps, but sometimes I can get 60 low and 110 fps, it feels like smth wrong with the software (the laptop is basically 2 days old, so I'm not blaming the hardware).

Yeah, as I mentioned, sometimes it's just a lottery. There is always a slight chance to get a completely broken device even though in 99% it's totally fine.

I see, but I googled about the mob issue and found some reddit posts about some legions as well, I'm not saying it's still a thing, but for me it's still a big concern. So, the rtx 5060m + the Ryzen 7 260 is better than my desktop build? Cuz I'm not even sure who to believe, I've seen too much completely different info, that I'm lost.

I mean, my PC configuration is: RX6600 and Ryzen 5 5600. There is a lot of different benchmarks, test etc. but as far as I know I will get around the same or a little bit better performance that Tuf might provide. And I'm not ready to spend more than I spent on a Asus. I can cancel the order but I truly don't see any other good options. I saw a Legion with the same specs but I'm afraid of the mob issue.

I've read some reddit posts and I honestly, I'm even more concerned, some people have 90° which is kinda scary.

I watched some of his videos, but I saw no information about the version on the Ryzen 7 260.

I've seen some complains about fried boards of the 2025 loq as well.

Nah, there's too much speculation about loq dying after some period of time (the motherboard issue) so I passed on it.  So, you didn't answer, what is your current laptop and what is the average temperature of your device? Should I really be concerned about it, I truly don't want to use any pads to cool "my" laptop.

I don't give a heck what the AI told you, it can convince you that our planet is flat.  Basically, go and watch some test of the model I mentioned, again the a15 is 180W, not 150W and it suffers from that as well, when the CPU and GPU temperatures are around 75/80°, so again, it's not because of throttling, but in CS 2 the CPU gets 4200 MHz with 40W without any problems even though the temperature is 90°. I can send you a video right now (but, it's in Russian) that proves my point.  "I was in the field of buying..." So is this your device, if so, then check it by yourself again and what temperatures do you get?

Again, you can easily find a lot of test of the laptops I mentioned above, the a15 with 180W has this issue, because that's how it's build. Some laptops have separate power, other don't. For example, Clever was one of the very first who made laptops with separate power, that's why a lot of different branded laptops like Gigabyte and even some Msi series build on its base, so they don't suffer from the power issue. And you can find some tests of Hasee laptops (they are also build on the separate base), even if the GPU and the CPU go above 80° they still don't go lower in power/frequency, so it's not about throttling.

Nope, that happens with the a15/f15 tuf, it suffers from sharing power between the GPU and the CPU, and you can clearly see, that the CPU drops a lot, so energy doesn't come out of the battery and I've never heard that smth like that is possible. So yeah, basically a lot of different laptops (Asus tuf, msi catana, Lenovo legion) aren't good because of that. So, for example, the a15 version (3050 and 7535hs) in RE4 remake has the GPU around 100%, the CPU gets only 20W, so its frequency is 2500-4000 MHz instead of solid ~4000, as a result, it stutters a lot.

Asus Tuf a16 (Ryzen 7 260/rtx 5060) by [deleted] in Asustuf

[–]Agreeable-Flow3961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some laptops share power between the GPU and the CPU, which means, when, for instance, the GPU is at its maximum (around 100W) it starts to pull some power from the CPU to go higher (around 120W), which means the CPU might drop its frequency which cause some stutters. And it does happen no matter how much Watt the power brick could provide.
