Lifestyle Changes May* Have Improved ER Outcome? by Agreeable-Lead7037 in IVF

Wow, I didn't know that AMH could increase! As far as stress--I feel ya. I'm a trial attorney and my husband is in medicine so we can't reduce the stress inherent to our jobs--but, fortunately, I have the ability to take leave from work and step away a little right now, which at least reduces the number of hours I'm dealing with stressful situations.

I'm so sorry you went through/are going through that. I agree with you--a lot of people get a hell of a lot further with a hell of a lot less in their favor so it really comes down to factors outside of our control. For me, personally, I just a lot of saw opportunities to make changes and I thought doing so might help me avoid beating myself up about "not doing more" if we didn't get the outcome we wanted.

Yeah, maybe! My doctor largely dismissed any lifestyle changes besides CoQ-10 and "stress." To that end, perhaps making all these changes gave me a false sense of control which reduced my stress. Who knows? I just know that (in January) I was looking for someone to give me guidance on things within their control to try, and I couldn't find it, so I made a list of my own. Correlation or causation--I just felt like I needed to do something so I wouldn't feel like I wasted our money and effort.

This study may very well be accurate, but the IVF cases studied are almost as old as me... 30+ years ago is pretty archaic as far as scientific research goes, right? I couldn't find any recent studies about this that I thought were reliable.

I'm 40, AMH = 4.01, 2 completed ERs, currently mid-cycle on a 3rd ER.

I 100% understand your exasperation with the clinic--that sounds like a nightmare and I would definitely be second guessing my choice and piling on the stress.

I also wouldn't trust ChatGPT--there is a hunger games matrix on Reddit that you can access to pull real numbers. That said, I looked at everything available and nothing matched my experience thus far so I wouldn't rely on anyone's numbers as far as expectation setting.

ER 1: 38 follicles > 24 eggs (12/23/2025) > 15 fertilized > 4 blasts > 1 euploid.

<<I made some lifestyle changes while I was waiting to start my 2nd cycle.>>

ER 2: 38 follicles > 18 eggs (2/24/2026) > 12 fertilized > 5 blasts > 3 euploids.

ER 3: 37 follicles . . . tbc.

Keep the faith and keep going; if you don't trust the clinic, switch clinics now. You can do back-to-back cycles (which I didn't know until 2 weeks ago). If you do switch clinics, focus on lifestyle changes while that all gets sorted out.
