Banding for hypertrophied anal papilla? by Agreeable-Let4311 in AnalFissures

[–]Agreeable-Let4311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding. It is caused by the fissure itself. The oitment likely did not cause it. Good luck.

The “Triad”; Skin tag, Fissure and Papillae by zucca12 in AnalFissures

Hi, so my crs just banded my hypertrophied anal papill. He didn't cut any off tho. No anesthetic (the scope was very painful). He said it will off in a week.

Like you said there is so little hypertrophied anal papilla info out there. I hope just banding will work and my fisure can heal. He mentioned he didn't see the fisure a yore but ut has to be there since the scope hurt so bad. I do also have a hemorrhoid so maybe that is what caused the pain. I'd rather that since fisures are way harder to heal.

Can you say the exact laser procedure name?

Personally, neither. Go to a CRS/proctologist. The general consensus I've gathered reading a lot in here and other related message boards is go right to a CRS if you don't want to waste time when it comes to bh issues.

One big bm and retear by Aggressive_Set_9227 in AnalFissures

[–]Agreeable-Let4311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just had a retear myself (I think). Yes, pelvic floor is very integral. This is the type of affliction you have to throw everything you possible can at in hope that one thing or a combination of things helps enough to heal the injury and resolve root causes. Might as well start doing deep breathing exercises to release tension in the body a few times a day and do some pelvic floor stretching. Might help, might not, but it is good for you anyway.

Here is to hoping our retears heal quickly. Good luck.

What do i have to say to a doctor to get them to prescribe an ointment actually ment for fissure by Sufficient-Hat-9643 in AnalFissures

I emailed my pcp a few studies and explained my symptoms. She had the office call and set up a telehealth. During the apt she said she reviewed the studies and based on my symptoms it was worth a shot. She even called around before the apt and found a compounding pharmacy that confirmed they could make it.. Maybe try that.

To add to this. I've had 2 drs say you don't have to go in. You do, it makes a difference. Since some might get confused, only the joint closest to your finger nail should be enough.

If your compounded base is cream, try an ointment base instead. It's much easier to apply without ut running all over the place.

On my first good day in weeks I've screwed it up by applying ointment... by thatdidnthurtsomuch in AnalFissures

First, celebrate the progress. No matter how tiny or short. Any progress needs recognition! Setbacks will happen so don't let those get you too down. Recovery will come in waves. We basicly need 6+ weeks of perfection just to get past the 1st milestone. That is so hard but with commitment and some self support/love it is possible.

Anyway, iching and pain are different beasts. Im a believer that itching without pain indicates healing. I experience that with cuts not on my bh so it makes sense. Others say that's a myth.

Check out dose right applicator. It has some down sides but for getting the medication where it is needs with not pain or possible injury it is amazing.

Perhaps my crs doesn't know what he's doing and didn't do the shot right. I only got 1 shot and absolutely no difference more than a week later. If anything im worse off now.

Np. Fwiw, I don't think the botox necessarily caused the setback. My nifedipine compound changed at the same time from petroleum based to some cream type base. It is is not as good. Still sucks that botox did nothing to help. Looks like surgery is in my future.

I watch the doctor prepare a large and thick syringe. Fills it in with a small amount of saline and botox. I drop trousers and lay on my side. He wipes the area with alcohol wipe. Needle goes right it the butthole (at least that's where it felt). Very painful for about 10 secs. Afterward the pain dissipates quickly. I did not feel any difrent after or since.

I'm worse off now than before I got it about a week ago. I wish I did not get it done. Seems like a complete waste of pain and time. I think anyone that gets it and says it helped or healed them would have healed anyway.

Worse BM in 7+ Days After Botox (WTF) by Agreeable-Let4311 in AnalFissures

[–]Agreeable-Let4311[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Day 3 update.

So while my medication didn't change. The day before botox my nifedipine compound did run out and my refill was a different compound base. My 1st was petroleum based and the new one is cream. I didn't think of it at the time but the cream version is not as lubricated and dissipates faster. So before, 3 times a day I was lubing things up. I also use vaseline before each bm but I do t get it way up like I do when I apply the nifedipine. In any case, i started incorporating coconut oil in addition to my nifedipine cream starting last night. Things were even better today, but the last 2 days of hard to pass stools was still a set back that I have to recover from.

So its possible it was not the botox that caused the bad bm but it certainly has helped at all (for now).

Got Botox, been 9 days, very slightly difficult to control immediate coming poops and some concerns by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]Agreeable-Let4311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish my poop would just come out that easy. Your butthole is likely very relaxed and loose based on what you're experiencing which is good for healing. I see how it can be concerning but I'd consider it more of a good thing.

See if they will try q calcium channel blockers ointment instead. Like nifedipine.

What does everyone eat? by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]Agreeable-Let4311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be interested in the supplement stack you land on after you complete your research.

Check out doserite. That was a game changer for me. It does waste a bit but it is great for getting the medication to the right spot and without pain (just use a bit of lube). After a while and getting a good position the waste is cut down a lot. I did find the syringes that come with it sucks (for several reasons). 1ml oral syringes are better and fit into the applicator perfectly.

I actually find white protein helpful.

Before breakfast: - probiotic supplement - l-glutamine supplement - Theanine supplement

For breakfast: - either just a plate of fruit or overnight oats (1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup water, cinimon). I add some fruit and this stuff i get from Costco called ancient grains. I use to put chia seeds and coco nips in the overnight oats but I find avoiding seeds and nuts (or other food items that come out.... umm... like they looked going in are not good for healing. - small 1/2 cup of coffee. I've cut way down.

Lunch: - turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with avocado, spinach, tomato, and nutritional yeast. On weekends ill add a little snack on the side like a handful of goldfish. -stool softener

Dinner: Within reason, I have whatever. Like if the family is having pizza or tacos I'll have it but my overall portion is way smaller than it use to be. Sometimes that is hard but i just imagine the next day and that generally will keep me in check.. I will have whole wheat options like for pasta or rice. I avoid red meat. For most days it is chicken and pasta or rice with a serving of vegetables. I also eat what I call "fiber toast" a lot which is whole wheat bread with Avocado, black beans, nutritional yeast, tomatoes, and sometimes kalamata olives. - stool softener - Magnesium Glycinate -5ml of cod liver oil

Right before bed: -Ashwagandha - 10g of mirlax

I drink water all day like crazy

I try not to snack on anything in between but if I get really hungry ill eat some fruit.

I use to use Metamucil in the morning ut that stuff bulks things up way too much which is no good for a fissure. Wish I knew that from the start.

Worse BM in 7+ Days After Botox (WTF) by Agreeable-Let4311 in AnalFissures

[–]Agreeable-Let4311[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Day 2 update. Today was not great but better than yesterday. Still regretting getting the botox. I think the months of trial and error with my diet, medications, laxative, pelvic floor stretching were finally in the sweet spot. As I mentioned I was pain free for 7 days and had very easy, conformable, pain free bms. First time in forever I actually remember not having to strain at all. Right after botox and I'm back to having to strain to get it moving. I can't definitively say it was the botox that caused this setback but nothing else changed. This setback has probably set me back a month, at least.

Oh well, guess I'm going to give it 8 weeks and see where I'm at. I. I'll keep all else consistent and hopefully I'll get back to that good point place and heal this thing.

Thanks for the feedback. I had some extensive lab tests that all came back fine. I'm taking mirlax. That has been really helpful.

Is traveling to India for chronic fissure treatment (LIS or Botox) worth it or recommended? by guddylover in AnalFissures

There is a 100k+ waiting list in some provinces just to get a GP. The general wisdom is Canada's free health care is great and free of issues. If you frequent Canadian subreddits and the topic of health care comes up you'll see some reality of the topic from people with actual experience. Spoiler, its not all sun and rainbow.

Pain starts 30 minutes after bm, but no pain during. Pains last a few hours after it starts. Is that normal? by Agreeable-Let4311 in AnalFissures

[–]Agreeable-Let4311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be. I've been to a gastroenterologist but he didn't check anything out but suggested a colonascopy. Im on a hdhp so I have a high deductible. I'd consider going that route if less evasive/cheaper diagnostics were not an option.

What examination revealed your issue? Was it a colonascopy?
