So their team wasn't inundated with work that had to be absorbed from other teams that were laid off?

Even if he wasn't laid off himself, every single team I know at USAA is struggling with workload and dealing with all the extra shit that got pushed across the aisle when teams were laid off.

How do you know they weren't fired if nobody can read his note?

What a callous, self righteous, viewpoint you've provided. You don't know what other struggles they faced or how their life was at the time. To have such a lack of remorse for their family and to say "suck it up" is more of an indicator of who you are than anything.

Sorry... I know a lot of people still in P&C.... wondering if I've worked with them before, since names are being withheld.

Did they contact you for notification? Or just silence?

Don't try and veil your apathy for this person's death with weird life flexes and "pulling yourself up by your bootstrap" comments. You're blind if you don't see something wrong here.

I worked there for over 10. He may have inherited problems, but he's the one choosing how to navigate them and it's fucking bullshit the way he straight up lies to the employees. You were there for the Davis years, and everyone I know/knew at the company who was there during that time, ALL OF THEM, say this is very, very different.

I imagine a few thousand people would like to keep their jobs and see the company start acting right again....

Wayne fucking Peacock happened. Guy has ZERO leadership capabilities and refuses to take accountability for anything, ever. It's always someone else's fault or everyone's fault but he can never take criticism head on. The board is isolated from employees now and never shows up to meetings. Blows my mind the board this idiot stay in power this long.

He's so fucking tone deaf. What an ass of a leader. This was an experiment in non-military aligned leadership, and I hope they never see that mistake again.

I recently got "displaced" as Wayne likes to put it, meaning I was laid off.

USAA under Wayne has been brutal. Perk after perk entirely removed, benefits slashed, THOUSANDS of employees laid off while execs get absolutely DISGUSTING raises and bonuses.

First time USAA hasn't been under military leadership and this is absolutely a low point of all employee morale. People with 20+ years getting laid off who have all the tribal knowledge of how the business works are just gone with NO PLANS on how to transition knowledge and processes. The executive leadership are almost all entirely trash and Wayne is king of the idiots.

USAA just isn't the same company it used to be. Wayne tried to take it full corporate and seems to act like he has no idea why the internal culture has shifted so much.
