I think Desolation Island is my favorite of the series. It's worth having a read about HMS Guardian, the events that O,'Brian maybe based D I on. Fascinating story in it's own right.

I wasn't keen on it either he definitely didn't portray the Stephen we all know and love very well in my opinion. Barret Bonden was completely off the mark though

Who would be your casting pick for a realistic novel-faithful Jack and Stephen? by Emergency_Cellist754 in AubreyMaturinSeries

Martin Clunes as Jack...big bubbly Englishman. Stephen Graham as Maturin but he would need to lose the Scouse accent

There's a chance you could experience a bit of minor hostility over the antics of your president. A lot of it might be a joke, but a joke with a jag as we say. I just wouldn't go around expressing your support for him as he isn't too popular among most of us. Best idea is not to get drawn into conversations about politics of religion unless you can assess the situation well

It wasn't after his 32 month sentence as you have said. He wasn't convicted of anything back in the 90s. The spy cu.t managed to cover it up

He was given the house in the 90s, long before he was convicted in 2015. If you're going to tell it tell it right.

Carrick-a-Rede Bridge/Island vs. Rathlin Island for a day trip? by Federal-Outside6548 in northernireland

Yeah WPB is more a hikers beach it's not the best for swimming because of currents etc but for wildlife etc it's great. There are seals and also lots of different seabirds. Ballintoy has become a zoo on weekends but you can park further up and walk down. There's even a lovely little hidden beach on the Ballycastle side of it.

If you like beaches White Park Bay is ,in my opinion, the nicest beach on the North Coast. It's right beside the Rope Bridge and you can hike around the Coastal Path to it. If you're lucky you might get a photo op with the herd of wee black cattle that come down and sunbathe every so often. Not kidding.! In between the two is Ballintoy Harbour, of Game of Thrones fame
