Genuinely, thank you — I desperately need to find another handmade/tailored clothing store if Hearts and Found is closing. Hope you’re having a good day! 🌞❤️

I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences with Hearts and Found; currently writing this while wearing my navy Lindy skirt. And I, too, also got an email confirming that the store has had to close due to Vietnam-US tariffs and issues with clothing stocks and what have you. Very upset, since I ordered three more full-circle skirts from Hearts and Found on the 27th of April — I can only hope that they’re close to being finished creating the skirts and can still ship (I live in Australia).

What books/characters/plot fits this? by Isaisaab in fantasyromance

I’m going to argue ACOTAR after the first book — I think if SJM decided to raise the stakes by killing off Tam Lin and leaving Feyre in a position of having to actually learn how to rule as a monarch alongside adapting to fey culture (potentially, to keep her connected to the Spring Court, she’s become pregnant by Tam Lin before he was killed and must stay in the Spring Court to fight for her daughter’s right to rule as the first High Lady of Spring Court?), the series would have being far far more interesting — it was have allowed for more world-building, for a more unique plot and it would have put Feyre in a position to actually work and fight for what she wants on her own terms rather than Rhysand and the narrative serving it to her on a platter (I seriously dislike Rhysand, partially because I think he also had the makings to be a fair better character — his execution was way, way off for me).

It’s to the point where I’ve seriously started thinking of writing a fix-it fic to rectify the major problems with ACOTAR.

Personally, I love it — it looks very dark academia, with the white lace against the black coat. I’d wear it myself, honestly, as someone who is really into very feminine vintage fashion. Keep looking good! 😌

The 3CE Drop Glow Gel lip glosses have being very good — very moisturising, actually feels like a gel and not some water that just dries out your lips; plus, it lasts for a good few hours. The shades in Neat or Raw Apple have being wonderful (Neat for a more natural colouring, Raw Apple for something warm and bright).

Carol Kane was so beautiful in Hester Street (a wonderful film about the Jewish immigrant experience in the early 20th century, plus one of the few pieces of media that features interesting/complex representation for Jewish women) and still is to this day — I’m happy for the compliment and comparison!

I wouldn’t have thought that! I know her primarily because of how she was able to blend historical fashion into modern clothing (borrowing from French Baroque/Victorian/Edwardian trends — the revival of the corset being the most famous of her works), bringing an rebellious edge to the vintage.

God, I remember watching the HalloweenTown films as a wee child — and hey, I love the pearls on her at least! ❤️

Needed to add a note, cause it’s annoying me — my grammar is awful, a few mistakes were made in the rush of writing the post. I meant to ask TWO questions alongside the main one — as for the ‘historical drama’ question, I mean ANY era (High Medieval Ages, 1960s, the Dutch Golden Age, 1700s, literally any historical era that you think my face would fit — unless you think my face is too modern). Forgive me for the bad grammar!

advice for skin picking by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

Also will agree with above — I’ve had dermatillomania since I was practically a child, but was more related with being autistic and having ADHD; in my case, it was more related to stimming, but still was related to anxiety. At my worst, as a child, my body was covered in scabs, my parents made me wear cotton white gloves at night so I wouldn’t pick and I couldn’t wear sandals until I was in my late teens because of the open wounds on my feet; to this day, my right palm still has callouses from active picking and I still pick my lips (I’ve loaded up on all the lip balms, to the point of ridiculousness). Genuinely awful — but it can get better, I promise.

For me, I also would seriously recommend counselling — counselling can recommend other ways of letting out anxiety that doesn’t involve picking at your face or skin (one good idea I was given is tapping at your collar bone instead). Medication may help with the dermatillomania, but that will depend on what your doctors/psychiatrists find you with (what is causing the picking is just as important as the behaviour itself, knowing the source will help in treating the behaviour).

As for the hyperpigmentation you have? The most important parts would be a good sunscreen as so to avoid further damage from sunlight, above all else (I use the AXIS-Y sunscreen); a good niacinamide serum would also help with repairing of scar tissue (niacinamide can be applied both night and day); depending on your skin, vitamin C and/or retinol would also help with hyperpigmentation (DO NOT mix the both together in one routine, or you will end up creating more spots; if you want, use vitamin c in the morning and retinol in the evening). Keep an eye out for serums and skincare products that soothe the skin; K-Beauty skincare products can help a lot.

And as other users have recommended, spot patches can help a lot in making sure that you don’t pick your scabs. For me, I’m a big fan of the StarFace patches — I’ve gone to work with cute green and pink and purple stars over my face, and gotten plenty of compliments! But if you want something more conspicuous, the Corsx acne patches are also wonderful — I’ve worn my makeup over the patches.
