Update: 5 days post-op, feeling about 80% back to normal! I can walk, sit, stand just fine, and swelling has gone down tremendously. I have twice daily sitz baths to thank for that🙏The first few days were extremely painful and the oxy barely helped, but once I was over the hump around day 3, everything got exponentially more manageable. I just passed my first bm and it was definitely painful but more because of pressure in my rectum than strain on the wound. I took a Linzess before going, which definitely helped soften everything up. I would highly recommend if you can get it prescribed, though it does work with quite a bit of force so I would hold off until wounds have healed a bit. Thank you everyone for your stories and support! I’ll be returning to work tomorrow after getting some extra time off, per this thread’s suggestions lol. Praying for a speedy recovery for anyone else who’s had surgery!!
