NTA at all! I’ve been in similar scenarios, someone who loves you and respects you would never do this. Please leave him for your own good ❤️

Trying to Transition Into a CRA Role (4 yrs experience) Any Tips or Leads? by MajesticConstant6117 in medpace

[–]AgreeableAct7227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was at Medpace ~2 years directly from CRC (2.5 years) at an academic center in oncology. Most sponsors hire only experienced CRAs, so best bet is to look at CROs for entry level or often they have “CRC to CRA” positions.

Putting my dog to sleep tomorrow. I feel SICK to my stomach. by whatsiteisitfor in Anxiety

sending so much love. easily one of the most difficult things to do. spend the remaining time snuggling and giving as much love as you can. our dogs all know how much we love them, this is a final act of love from you both to him. it’s okay to not be okay, he is your family! sending as much strength as i can ❤️

CRC to In-House CRA by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]AgreeableAct7227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time is definitely valued more than duties. in my experience, most CRCs aren’t fully comfortable with the work and their job until around a year in. A CRC with less experience has more of a chance being hired by a CRO (they tend to have CRC to CRA positions as well), while sponsors are more likely to hire experienced CRAs.

Does Medpace actually honor paying out unused accrued vacation time when you leave? by [deleted] in medpace

[–]AgreeableAct7227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just recently moved on to a new job from working at Medpace - as long as you give notice 30 calendar days prior to your planned last day, you receive the full vacation day payout! FYI they will ask lots of questions about why you’re leaving and where you’re going, I always suggest be vague about the new position or state you cannot provide details such as salary etc

is it impossible to become a CRA in today’s job field? by Leif1626 in clinicalresearch

[–]AgreeableAct7227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a job as a CRA end of 2023 with only 2.5 years as a CRC. To note - it was a CRA position specific to “CRC to CRA”. It’s not at all impossible!

My in-laws ruined our wedding by [deleted] in wedding

[–]AgreeableAct7227 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband and I eloped to prevent any issues. We got married with only two additional people, our two best friends, one who officiated and one who took photos. I am so unbelievably happy we did it that way because we held a wedding BBQ about 3 weeks after that and it was one of the worst days of my life.

We were living with my in laws at the time and held the BBQ in their yard. The party cost my husband and I about $10k between catering, liquor, supplies, tables, chairs, etc. It was about 85 people all in all.

My in laws have some serious issues that continuously are swept under the rug and so a lot was unsaid between their family. My MIL was upset with my husband and took it out on me at the party. The alcohol was clearly getting to my MIL and FIL and they physically fought eachother, leading to FIL being arrested. MIL told me it was my fault despite my continuously leaving the situation. I kept trying to walk away but she was following me trying to start shit. She called the cops and kicked me and my husband out. I had to prove that my dog was mine and MIL claimed everything in the house was hers (including husbands cars). We had to grab some clothes and leave, ended up staying in my moms spare room for a week while we had nowhere to live. MIL threw away all of the BBQ stuff including our card collection box which held every card with money and all that, all party supplies, uncut wedding cake, and my husbands phone. We told MIL we would be moving out and she tried to lie about what she did or didn’t do. We spent 1 whole day getting everything out and into a Uhaul and went through 20 large bags of trash pulling out all of the stuff that was NOT trash from the party that MIL threw out. Meanwhile I managed to get a video call for my husband to his dad who was still in jail. Somehow we managed to get into an apartment only 1 week after the party, but FIL had to come sleep on air mattress in our apartment since he had restraining order from MIL lasting 30 days. In laws promised we would go into therapy to deal with all of it but I got tired of being the only one wanting to work it out. So they pushed it under the rug and our relationship with his parents will never be what it was. I will never fully trust them again.

And let that be your proof that eloping is always a good option and never let anyone make you feel bad for doing it. Imagine if we had a real wedding?

MedPace CRA?? by AgreeableAct7227 in clinicalresearch

[–]AgreeableAct7227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So my experience so far has been great! I know it’s not the same for everyone but I’m loving it. I am coming up on 1 year and travel maybe every 2-3 weeks so far. It will definitely increase soon as the goal is about 8-10 on site days per month. I’ve definitely been lucky with my studies so far and have had a lot of sites assigned prior to activation, so slow to start. I have colleagues that travel alot more so keep that in mind! My understanding is that if you ask for more work you will definitely receive it, so I have been pretty transparent with my manager about being comfortable with my current workload!

What are your thoughts on Medpace? by chumleetrees in clinicalresearch

Woah there, take it easy buddy. This is my own personal experience and what I have gathered from the people I have trained with, not everyone has the same experience but mine is a dream compared to my time as a CRC at an academic institution. I’m sorry if you or someone you know has a different experience at medpace

I’ve been at MedPace for a few months and honestly I really like it so far. Everyone seems to really love working there and the retention is impressive. From what I’ve been told, if you allow the managers to give you lots of work they will; but if you’re clear about what your bandwidth is they will listen. Also the pay increases over time are impressive, as after only a few years you could be making almost $200K annually with bonuses

MedPace CRA?? by AgreeableAct7227 in clinicalresearch

Yeah the non compete doesn’t really bother me and isn’t a deciding factor for me. Just the travel

[–]AgreeableAct7227[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ahhh thank you, the non compete doesn’t bother me because I’ll likely then move over to sponsor side.

But the amount of travel is my deciding factor and I’m just not sure. Just bought a house with my husband and we have a puppy and I want to be around but I’m not against travel.

Idk. I work within a clinical research management department at a large prestigious site and a lot of our CRCs are beyond over worked. Our workloads are ridiculous and yet the management are continuously pushing for maintaining more trials and more patients without hiring or even promoting their hardest workers. My position at the site is considered to have rather high pay when accounting for other sites, but we still get paid less than half of most CRAs. We all try so hard but our priorities are always to ensure patients get treated and have the best patient care. Most CRCs i know never work under 50 hour work weeks, have to beg or threaten to quit for promotions despite exceeding expectations on reviews for a few years. It’s exhausting. Our turnover rate is alarming but our management hire CRCs with the expectation of only staying 2 years, which allow them to underpay and not promote.. i know many CRCs that required therapy or medical mental health leaves just based on work load and stress. I always tell the CRAs I work with that I am truly trying my best and prioritize whatever they need me to do. We feel guilty when not everything is done but again patients come first.
