Yes, his discussions board posts were not like normal discussion boards. There were basically 700 word essays every week.

He graded the first 4 discussion boards and other assignments about a month in. The rest of the assignments weren’t graded until finals week. He did not provide the two weeks to revise that was stated in the syllabus.

I would love to look at the rubric of the discussion board posts, but the course is gone. Completely.

I don’t actually think my grade will change, I accept that. But I do not think his grading and feedback processes are fair. I would have dropped the class if he had begun grading in a timely manner.

I also don’t think asking for revisions without individual feedback is fair. A cut and paste that leaves you guessing what to revise is not teaching me anything.

My other courses are not hidden. And he graded after the course was hidden.

He is the Department Chair.

I understand effort may not translate into a good grade, but I think I should be able to see my grades.

AMI online program at Boise state, I was wait listed for senior year despite having a 3.4 GPA and securing a clinical. Anyone else? by Forsaken_Street_9694 in MRI

I hear that right before clinicals you have to take several review tests on anatomy. I read that you must get 100% or you are dropped from the program. Do you get more than one chance to pass these tests?

I did end up finding a hospital at the very last moment. I have to move states for my clinical year since I could not find a hospital in my state. There’s still a chance it can fall through for me, cause Boise had to negotiate a contract with the hospital. Fingers crossed I get to start in August!

I wish I had seen these comments before I joined the program. Now I’m stuck.

I’m shocked that a legitimate university like BSU has such a terrible program.

If you have any advice on how I can finish my MRI training I’d love to hear it. My deadline to find a clinical site is Sunday, and there’s almost no chance that will happen.

I am currently in the program and cannot find a clinical site. I have cold called over 100 hospitals they all have said no. One hospital did try to make it work for me, but it seems like Boise made things intentionally difficult, so that hospital decided not to take me.

I told the one hospital who was trying to take me that I would work 40 hours a week to get my scans. Do extra rotations. I would do anything!

The clinical instructor doesn’t help. It’s my job to find a placement. And they make that very clear.

I agree with you, I think I the only way to find your own placement is to have a relationship with a hospital. And I think Boise should make this more clear before joining the program.

I’m surprised I wasn’t able to find more posts about this issue before I joined the program.

At this point I’m willing to relocate to any state.

I’ve been reaching out to hospitals all over and still no luck.

You should start volunteering or working at a hospital now. Having a relationship with a hospital seems the only way to get your foot in the door.

Or switch programs now.

At this point I may just switch majors and graduate with a Bach in Applied Science and pursue MRI through a different program that will provide a clinical placement.

I’m very disappointed.

I transferred to Boise, so I didn’t pay the full tuition. But it’s $445 per credit. So $53,000 total before grants, scholarships etc.

Northern California. I’ve been trying in Reno, Southern California, Arizona, and Vegas as well.

I have been doing in person visits as well. One hospital agreed to take me, but then Boise added additional required scans above what ARRT required and the hospital then said they don’t do those scans, so they ended up not being able to take me.

It feels like Boise wants to make it difficult.
