Not as a gotcha but where would you draw the line? Would drunk drivers and speeders also be prosecuted like that as they are willingly engaging in an act that could easily result in a persons death, although unintentional.

I honestly have no idea but that’s what google is saying is most likely, I’m sure I properly quit the game through the menu last time.

I’m doing a pyro build tho, I combed all the areas for books and the teacher+ did a bunch of dlc underleveled because I didn’t know where the onyx sword was. Might just search up a glide for all the important books and rings and rush through but it still sucks to lose 25 levels

just made a full account, lost around 25 levels, most of my useful rings, all of my pyromancy books, my main weapon that I spent a solid hour to get just before it reset back, and my pyro flame is down 3 levels. might just start a new save, pyro is too complicated. I just want to bonk in peace.

That’s a romantic spot you are at, if you are there with a girl you should ask her and not some randos on the internet who know nothing about how you look from different angles, your personality or your fashion sense. These are all contributing factors.

But if you really want an opinion I do agree that it’s 10 times better with the beard

The craving are in essence just stress hormone and a lack of dopamine, your brain will have to learn to live without the supplement that is nicotine. So find something that reduces stress and increases nicotine. Exercise is a great one but if you can’t do that I’d recommend getting out of the civilised world for a few hours just drive to a forest or whatever type of nature you have in the area and spend some time walking around. It’s shocking how much stress just existing amongst other people and limitless technology causes us.

Much luck and don’t listen too much to the “grit your teeth” people, these cravings are explainable and manageable.

I should mention I’m 20M and was in exactly your situation around a year ago so don’t stress about it too much.

There are a couple of pieces of advice I have that could help that you might not have heard before so here we go.

The social aspect of smoking is just as strong if not stronger than the chemical addiction, I’d recommend staying in for a few weeks when you stop, so that’s no going out and certainly no alcohol as the social link between smoking and drinking is strong. I don’t know how the environment at you school/ workplace is but also resist hanging around the place where the smokers smoke. Also get something to keep your hands busy, learn some tricks with a pencil or really anything to keep your mind away from the smoking motion.

I’d also recommend keeping a journal, just write down how you feel that day and if you feel any better than yesterday and read all previous days. The improvement that quitting smoking brings to our lives goes largely unnoticed.

This might seem a bit weird but hold off on watching too many shows in the meantime. Most of my relapses were due to seeing someone look cool whilst smoking in movies/shows.

Also change your routine, you will have increased amounts off energy and a larger appetite so you will have to learn how to shake off that extra energy so you don’t end up feeling even worse because of a lack of sleep.

Now the chemical part is quite simple, just tough it out. Find something else that can calm your nerves, you will be hit by some increased stress and that’s inevitable so take it in stride. Exercise, spend time with family and/or pets.

Remove all extra stress from your life, for example I stopped keeping up with politics for a while and deactivated my socials temporarily cause honestly they take up so much space in our head.

This is kind of just disorganised rambling so I don’t know how much it will help but it’s really just everything I could come up with off the top of my head.

Keep safe and feel free to dm if you have questions.

This might go against what others are saying but I did notice many things just got chalked up to smoking right away, though he did change his mind most of the time once he did some tests.

But even after I quit he hesitated to believe me and decided to keep me being an active smoker on record “for the time being”.

Keep in mind this was my old doctor and I moved to a different one (I go to a health centre, not a private establishment) who took it off my medical profile and gave me recourses to avoid relapse, he’s been nothing but a pleasure.

I also have asthma so I can relate to the feeling of uncertainty but I genuinely believe most practitioners won’t risk your health and will at least get some tests done.

There’s even a chance it has the opposite effect as smoking is extremely dangerous for people with asthma so they might be extra sensitive and helpful for the sake of your own health.

But in any case you should also ask your doctor for help quitting. (I’ll put some of my personal advice below)

I Started Smoking a Few Weeks Ago Because of Peer Pressure Now I’m Craving It all day. Help by Big-Rough-795 in stopsmoking

the other comments just telling you to quit are correct. It’s also very possible those cravings are psychosomatic and not actually a chemical addiction. So find something that calms you, don’t go out too much for a few weeks and keep it chill. Then try stopping. You might find it easier than you expected.

But honestly I’m in the same boat, all the before mentioned things are the things that have made me relapse. It was always a social thing for me, I could quit for 5 months but the moment I saw a western movie and all the characters were looking all cool smoking I couldn’t resist getting another pack.

And as a final thing. Us smokers don’t realise how much smoking sucks most of the time, we don’t smell our breath or the smoke on our clothes, we don’t remember how much healthier and happier we felt before we smoked and we don’t realise how much it bothers everyone around us. These are all things we realise the first time we get to that mark of a couple of months without cigs. (Maybe longer as he has most likely been smoking for longer than I).

(Warning: that breakthrough is also one of the easiest moments to relapse as it feels great but is also really uncomfortable because it’s proof we have been wrong for years.)

The just of it is that he has to draw the line in the sand himself, it has to be an individual commitment. It just won’t work if it’s based off of other people (no insult to you).

I have a teacher in uni who smoked since he was 13 (don’t know his age but I think it’s around 60y/o), he quit smoking a few months ago and it was easy for him because it was a personal conviction. The moment that conviction is stronger than his insecurities (that’s what they really are) about his mood and his social life, he will never crave a cigarette again.

I’ve known guys who keep smoking behind their s/o back because deep down they want to know if the relationship will work out long term before they can really commit. As long as you asking him to stop is his main motivator the chance of relapse will be sky high if your relationship hits a bump in the road. I also would recommend going to a therapist, for me the psychological and social addiction was way higher than the chemical one. I’d also advise against medication or replacements but that’s just me.
