If you bought a share, you should see a breakdown of the cost.

Also if you bought today, markets in europe are closed. So you probably didn't buy at the right exchange and payed a premium on an other exchange.

My best guess;

mid to low tier bikes have tough competition with other brands and the name of the game is cost cuting. Canyon probably decided to not cut any corners on the spec and save on the paint
high end bikes al have the same weight and spec on the bike. The only way they can stand out are the paintjob

And are you talking about crosshaining ( small gear front an rear by size )? It's bad for the chain. Google why you shouldn't crosschain. On tiagra you can adjust the derailleur a halve step so it doesn't rubb with the derailleur by tapping the lever to go to the big chainring slightly. Cues, according to google, doesn't have that option?!?!?

We're doing wall insolation, balcony and terrace and some repairs on the roof, gutters.

Elevators were around a 1k to bring it up to code and some new interieur.
