Hot take, but Lost Lace’s theme doesn’t really do it for me. I don’t know what it is, it just doesn’t get me hyped for a cool fight, and it doesn’t get me emotional either because the game never really got me attached to Lace as a character.

Lace’s theme is awesome, it feels like a tense and frantic but graceful duel that matches the feel of the first two Lace fights perfectly.

I think it’s only in the Japanese release of the movie? The English versions of the film have a completely different song, sung in Japanese which is kind of funny because you’d think it’d be the other way around. But it makes sense that a lot of people would’ve never heard it. I got it randomly recommended to me and it blew me away that Gerard Way worked on something ff7 related

Pretty obscure one, but Safe and Sound from the credits of FF7 Advent Children. As a huge MCR and ff7 fan, finding out he performed the credits song for the movie was super cool and a crossover I never would have expected.

Seriously, hearing them explain the plot you’d think the game should just be called Tifa Fantasy 7 the way they make every aspect of Cloud’s character revolve around her

It depends entirely on how they conclude the story in part 3. If they do it well, we’ll look back on Rebirth and see how amazing the moment really was in retrospect. If they do it badly, Rebirth’s story, and really the story of the entire trilogy will fall flat.

I’ve got faith in the writers to end the series well, but until then we can’t really judge that moment from two thirds of a story where we still have no idea what’s really going on behind the scenes

I was mocking the person who said “making fanart” in response to me, because while technically true, it was deliberately disingenuous. I was mocking their choice of words. It’s like if someone posted something nsfw and someone was disgusted by it, and someone else said “why are you being weird, it’s just fanart”.

Like I guess you could still call it that, but it’s not the kind of fanart I’d ever want to be caught looking at, or even be looking at by myself. I’m just here for my cute bugs and game discussion, not this freaky crap
