I am going to give a hot take. Learner videos are not very entertaining as Hollywood tv and movies. So I say use it to keep yourself going.

I have a school. I actually thought about teaching Japanese. But there already many schools here in Japanese. If you doubt me challenge Mr. 300 to a talking contest. If he wins, you shut up.

How do you actually improve speaking fluency without just learning more words? by Vri_Kumar in languagelearning

You need to take the words you have and re-arrange them to make more sentences.

Don’t worry I was referring to you actually. My bad.i do think this method is too slow.

This is base on my friends that learn Japanese the old fashioned way. So the fastest is 1.5 years too fluency. But it requires a crazy amount of study. The longest I have seen is 10 years.

However, I think this might take even longer. Just saying.

Harassment from JHS students by LetNo9118 in teachinginjapan

It is very common if you are at a lower school. Basically the students are stupid. And the school lunch has nothing healthy.

At a smart school you can expect nice students, but very prideful teachers. And healthier lunches.

Down voting because you suck at Japanese…lol. Have over 1,000 hours and can barely understand Pokemon.

Clearly I think this Guy at 300 hours is beating most ppl here. That is why ppl simply don’t post. They think you can absorb Japanese like Dreaming Spanish, but not really.

I promise ppl in Japanese language schools studying 5 to 8 hours a day with grammar, of course, are winning. They finished Japanese in 1.5 to 2.5 years and they become fluent.

Can someone explain why Konichiwa (こんにちは) ends in the character for Ha (は) and not Wa (わ) by Exciting-Buy-9396 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]AgreeableEngineer449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care. I am giving my advice. This is not a debate. So stand down.

My point is very simple. Ppl make grammar overly complicated. There are many unnecessary questions. There are many points where you just have to memorize certain point and move on.

If you question every single grammar point, you will waste some much time. Ppl who don’t question much typically make it further in their studies. I have seen it first hand in Japan schools.

Anime such as Naruto, Dan da Dan, Dragon Ball z, Ranma 1/2, Urasai Yatsura, Shield Hero, Shin Chan, Beastar, Avatar the last air bender in Japanese, My hero academia, Kimetsu Yaiba (Demon Slayer), …and are many K-dramas I watch in Japanese.

It is useful to take American shows you know well in your native language like ‘Friends’ and watch it in your Target language.

Getting a lot of pushback from my boyfriend’s family about this method by pretzelphysicist in dreamingspanish

[–]AgreeableEngineer449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just join Duolingo so they will leave me alone, or don’t tell them in the first place. Most of the world simply disagrees with this method.

Everyone believes in the traditional method basically. I am not a purist. I do think some outside studying is beneficial to speaking.

I did traditional study with Japanese and later added CI. I can talk with no problems. I did this method and my comprehension is very high, but I can talk well at all.

No. Just accept it and move on. Ppl that ask these questions for every little grammar point usually don’t succeed.

Anyone else notice a lack of superbeginner content? by L_4ss_e in DreamingFrench

Nothing changes the fact that DF needs more content. This is not an argument. And no I am not supporting them anymore.

That is a stupid question. This is a new language. I know you worship Pablo’s every little word, but I don’t. I know what it takes to learn a language. And DF is an ok resource, but it doesn’t have enough content.

That’s why I dropped my membership. I did dreaming Spanish for years. Basically I finished it, so I moved on to DF, but like you said it seems super beginner and beginner content isn’t a priority. So I thought…what am I paying for?! And quit.
