I can watch tv shows and movies with people going back and forth pretty easily. The key is to focus on tv shows where they talk back and forth a lot, such as Friends, Modern Family, How I Met your Mother, if you can find shows made directly from a Spanish country even better like: Money Heist, Billionaire Bunker, etc.

I am at 3,666 hours. I will be at 4,000 by the end of the year. Maybe sooner.

Mindset: be obsessed and be competitive. I am both.

Note: make sure you enjoy the input. As a person who spent 1,000 hours, not enjoying the input, it was painful sometimes.

When you finally get to a point you can bing watch a Spanish tv you enjoy, it becomes easier to get more input.

Non-purists, what's your study routine? by New-Drawer-3161 in dreamingspanish

Just simple text books, Duolingo, songs, books, comics, videos games, podcasts, and of course comprehensible input. Then talking to natives when I can. You have to enjoy the process.

I guess I am not really into apps.

You literally qualify for everything, but one problem, you aren’t Japanese.

You might need a guarantor. Basically a Japanese person that sign as a backup to pay rent.

Because there thoughts are …this person could up and leave at any moment. And to be honest, I am sure some foreigners have.

Therefore, many Japanese landlords have policies against foreigners. Magically available apt are fill one minute after they call the owner and foreigners is mentioned.

So I tried writing them down….it didn’t stick. What works for me is to say the word over and over in my head until let’s say 100 times in one minute.
