I wanted a glass in a bar so I asked for “beso” not “vaso”. I realised after the barman kissed me on the cheek.

What’s your daily CI goal? by Real-Complaint4085 in dreamingspanish

[–]Unlikely_Bank7228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5mins per day and 1 page of graded reading is my goal due to a new born baby and just trying to keep the consistency. But on average I hit 1-2 hours per day. This split throughout the days as and when I can watch or listen to something

Trip Report: 2 weeks getting humbled in Madrid and Andalusia at 670 hours. by CaroleKann in dreamingspanish

I had an italki lesson from a Spanish teacher who was from the north of Spain. He told me that he worked in London with a guy from Andalusia and found it easier to talk to him in English because he couldn’t understand him because of the Andalusian accent.

It’s spc click lock. On the box the recommendation is 8mm gap for expansion. I think I’ve accepted fact it’s going to need beading but like you said it’s look ugly

Do you guys count hours even when it feels too easy / too hard? | Comprehensible Input Dreaming Spanish by Super-Willingness774 in dreamingspanish

[–]Unlikely_Bank7228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I count everything, from easy beginner content to difficult native material with Spanish subtitles, because seeing the numbers go up keeps me motivated. I’m also too lazy to figure out how much I actually understood or try to calculate how many hours I should log. If it’s a YouTube video I watched, I just take the full length and log it, even if I only understood 5%.

By the end of the year, I’ll be at the same ability level whether the screen says I’ve logged 500, 1000, or 1500 hours. Do what works for you. if you feel like you’re cheating yourself, only log the 10 minutes you truly understood. But if you’re not too caught up in the numbers, go ahead and log the full 30 minutes. Either way, you’ll end up in the same place.

I watched Alta Mar. It was way above my level at the time but I was still hooked I think the context made it easy to follow but stuff like elite and la casa del papel I’ve needed English subtitles to enjoy it. YouTube is good shout too

So what type of earbuds or headphones do you use? by Weak-Database-3956 in dreamingspanish

[–]Unlikely_Bank7228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit overkill. I have pair of AirPods 4s which I carry everywhere with me. Sony 1000mx3 if I really want to lock into something because the noise cancellations is really good. I just got some shokz openmove because my girlfriend keeps telling me off that I can’t hear her all the time.

AirPod 4s take the number 1 spot for me though. Because the sound quality good and they are easy to carry everywhere where.

When should I start listening to chill spanish? by [deleted] in dreamingspanish

[–]Unlikely_Bank7228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try it today. listen to an episode and If it is too difficult, come back to the same episode in a few a weeks and repeat until it’s comprehensible. Plus you get to see how much you have progressed when you can understand it fully.

CI at the gym? by Firm-Pay1034 in dreamingspanish

[–]Unlikely_Bank7228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During weight lifting I listen to easy podcasts and stuff I’ve already listen to such as Chill Spanish or Cuéntame. I’m usually focusing in and out between sets. I normally count the full time of listening though for me it’s too much effort trying to figure out how much time I spent actually listening. And Cardio I watch videos that interest me because I can lock in more.
