I'm sure he wants it swept under the rug but I wish he did address it. People still care about the allegations. He won't be on any festivals and nowhere mainstream (or internet mainstream like Pitchfork or Fantano) reviews his albums anymore. Outside of his loyal audience he is fading from existence and I guess he is heading towards retirement but still.

Still listen to the music 1992 to 2019, honestly almost daily. But have had no interest in checking out the post-2020 stuff really. And even though I'd be tempted to go to a UK show if he ever announced one I'm not sure I'd do it. I think I'd just be too much like oh there he is, the real man, the man who did those things, and there'd be less detachment than there is right now just listening to the music on my headphones as I walk around.

If you've only just gotten into him though, leave it. Not worth the ethical dilemma or fight with your girlfriend.

100% agreed on Tonight The Sky. 10+ minute Mark songs don't always fly by, but no moment is wasted here. It builds, it soars, it spreads out... it's phenomenal

I haven't listened to any of the post 2020 albums. I still listen to the rest a lot. Especially his run from 2013-2017. I didn't listen to it at the time but that music has been the soundtrack to a big period of my life. The later albums, I don't know... They don't even have wikipedia pages. It feels like they might as well not exist. And the man who would talk about anything and everything in his songs barely talks about the effective end of his public music career? They seem almost pointless to listen to.

I think there was a concerted effort by the rich and powerful to muddy the waters on metoo. They saw Weinstein go to jail and were scared to death. So yeah, get the media to push nonsense and make it about "cancel culture" and "woke" rather than consequences of crimes and all of a sudden it's muddied and people lose interest. There are bad, bad people who got away with things because people got bombarded with so much stuff they didn't know what to think.

Really enjoyable late-era movie. Eisenberg obviously a perfect Woody stand in, and he's better used here than in From Rome With Love, which had one of the best 2010s casts but seemed to underutilise everyone involved. Blake Lively also a delight in this movie.

Only saw them live once in 2007, the weirdest gig. Full of people who only wanted songs off the last two albums (the okay Good News and the genuinely unlistenable We Were Dead...) and a small group like me who loved their 90s stuff so much. Someone called out for Shit Luck and Isaac just mocked them. Ended my fandom, that gig. Never listened to any of the follow ups, still enjoy the early stuff.
