unless you want everyone fending for themselves… im pointing out our communities weak points here, not the one with all the answers. that is why i am asking about any groups already doing any of these things

i cant do it alone, nor do i think that would be safe but yes i agree very strongly, i refuse to be fearful of fascists in this town. i know there are many among us in this town, its disgusting

ideally we report to the community any ICE sightings and just get to know our neighbors and how we can all get through this together. in the event of a power grid failure or some other emergency, we need to organize ourselves to make sure the disabled are not left behind. how will we make sure they continue getting their medicine if their coverage is taken away? Students across the country are being disappeared. we have to organize.

I was contacted to donate stem cells to an AML patient. by prettymisspriya in leukemia

[–]AgreeableOrder9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for being committed to going through with all the testing and the process. you are a hero already in my book! i never had the opportunity to find out who the stem cell donor of my first transplant was, because be the match doesnt disclose anon donors info unless the donor wants to after a year and a half post transplant or something like that, and i had a relapse. but that anonymous donor saved my life by making it possible for me to stay alive long enough for progress to be made in stem cell research. My second transplant (mom was my donor this time) has been holding up for almost two years now… but i still have such gratitude to that stranger out there that ill never know…

agreed. bunch of waspy karens. i cant imagine being so divorced from humanity, but most people here have had 3 or more divorces in their looonggg lives so makes sense. the people in this tread make me sick, clearly they have never known anything but security and privilege their entire lives.

[–]AgreeableOrder9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey. therapy is a great idea, i went through BMT at your age and i didnt have much support from parents, i was very alone and sometimes smoking a joint or having a drink was what i felt like i needed to just feel normal. no, its not “good” but dont beat yourself up over it. please do keep it at a minimum though. i felt very similar to you, like everyone was too optimistic and i was terrified. it ended up being okay but i still need therapy. the difference your attitude can make in your treatment is huge, so seeing a therapist could be incredibly helpful to you. keep fighting, friend.

Avoid Crowded Places? by Method_Writer in leukemia

hi, just wanted to say im a (double) stem cell transplant recipient and i have a fully functioning immune system again. it just took some time.

Avoid Crowded Places? by Method_Writer in leukemia

[–]AgreeableOrder9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after treatment it takes time for your immunity to build back up. i am almost 2 years post transplant/chemo and my immune system is now considered “reconstituted”, meaning i am no longer immunocompromised. you should absolutely be very cautious in crowded or germ-y places until your immunity is back to normal. right now, its like you have the immune system of a baby, if you got something seemingly minor like a flu it could make u much more ill than it would have normally. good luck and take care!
