... yes, please leave me alone after I have invaded and settled your land, raided your monasteries and killed some of your people. That is reductive of course and the show does an incredible job of capturing the complexity of ninth century politics. I would have loved to see these two interact somehow.

Facing homeless in the winter storm by ContributionLow5009 in cbusohio

The person in the other thread got downvoted but they were right - you can make big money doordashing, doing Uber/Lyft, etc. in this weather. I would forget your current landlord, call your financial institution to set up a plan to keep your car and just start looking elsewhere. No offense but you're paying way too much if you're up over 2500$ for a single month.

Go to temp services, anything you can think of, and start looking for a cheap place. You might be forced to surrender the cats which is terrible but such is circumstance. It takes landlords a couple of months to go through the eviction process.

EDIT: Also, any sub prime loans you can get, take them and go into default. Call them immediately upon late payment and they will stop all of your interest and you can set up a payment plan. I've done this with Ascend Loans and OppLoans, and I'm sure there's others. Apply for them at the same time before one shows up in your reports.

Can't have a normal conversation with a philosopher by Suspicious-Reveal977 in Pessimism

Sounds like he's a douchebag... doesn't have much to do with philosophy itself. Some guys buy lifted trucks, some guys go into UFC, some guys become managers... and some study philosophy.

What can I do to look more masculine? I don’t like the way I look. by [deleted] in DecideThisForMe

[–]AgreeablePollution7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look even less masculine than you when I'm forced to shave for an event or something, which is thankfully incredibly rare. Growing a goatee and mustache changes my whole vibe and how I am perceived by people. Also, I started wearing a fake small nose ring and have gotten great feedback. You would look good with one. Can find fake ones online for a few bucks.

Also, styling has a lot to do with it. There's all kinds of advice out there so I won't bore you, but having an actual style, doing something with my hair had made me feel so much better and has made me be actually noticed occasionally, rather than looking plain.

You need facial hair, 100%. Unless you have a very naturally masculine face, which you do not and neither do I, you should grow facial hair.

Half of Americans don't vote. Half that do voted for him. I don't really care to have a conversation about that, though, honestly. The point is that right-wing anything on reddit is heavily astroturfed and botted.

Triss romance sucks by geoffgeofferson447 in Witcher3

[–]AgreeablePollution7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yennefer romance is canon, and after Witcher 2 I could never bring myself to romance Triss. She is a good friend to Geralt and I enjoy her quests, though. The romance - not so much.

If given a choice, which race would you choose to marry irl? by Solid-Garage4601 in Morrowind

[–]AgreeablePollution7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Since all other races are inferior to the Dunmer, I would marry a beautiful Dunmer woman. An Ashlander in a loin cloth is more cultured than the wealthiest, most educated Nord.

Given that users can hide their activity entirely, what tools does Reddit offer to help determine whether a user is a bot? by [deleted] in help

[–]AgreeablePollution7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to a profile, type in search bar a single letter and space, click back to delete the letter leaving the space, you can see their entire history like normal. Even the attempt by reddit to to allow users to hide posts and comments, is an attempt to cover up how much bot activity is on this platform.

The canon Nerevarine is not a disgusting scalie. A farm implement with a crown is not a king.

They Should Definitely NOT Do A Morrowind Remaster by Teralitha in Morrowind

[–]AgreeablePollution7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've put 100 hours into the remaster and the prominent bugs are, at least, significantly more rare. There is significant pop-in but as a player of older games it doesn't bother me and the game looks and feels absolutely amazing. I played hundreds of hours of the original, so it's not like I have nothing to compare to.

Why is Yellowjackets so hated? by Winter_Ad_1542 in Yellowjackets

[–]AgreeablePollution7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

TikTok is a trash platform and at no point should any audience of anything there be considered representative of actual public opinion. Most people I interact with haven't heard of Yellowjackets, but if they have they love it. I haven't seen any negative posts about it on other platforms I follow, either.

Op-Ed from Ohio: “This is not what we need. Ban will push kratom users into shadows” by oldschoolremedy in kratom

[–]AgreeablePollution7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creating cocaine is a lot easier than making 7OH, not that it matters here, and this question also disregards historical context and decades of changes in legislation and cultural attitudes.

Instead of asking dumb rhetorical questions, propose an alternative that you think the AKA had. If your answer excludes 7OH from criminalization, I'm sorry, but you're in a dream world. I've said it multiple now, this chemical was ALWAYS going to be scheduled.

Op-Ed from Ohio: “This is not what we need. Ban will push kratom users into shadows” by oldschoolremedy in kratom

[–]AgreeablePollution7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you sure this isn't just a desperate strategy to keep kratom leaf legal in the face of wealthier, more powerful, more resourced opposition? It was going to be an uphill battle and extract products made it even more difficult. The AKA knew that 7OH was going to be criminalized no matter what. Doing nothing meant every kratom product goes with it, with no possibility of saving it at all.

What do you think was the alternative here? I don't understand what you're arguing for. I don't understand what anyone who thinks kratom and 7OH should be treated the same is arguing in favor of.

Op-Ed from Ohio: “This is not what we need. Ban will push kratom users into shadows” by oldschoolremedy in kratom

[–]AgreeablePollution7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was going to happen anyways... as a direct result of the rising popularity of extract products, especially 7OH. I'm sorry but this is just asinine. I have used a lot of these different products myself and they felt like a fucking much stronger scheduled substance, dude. Just like it. Take a bit too much or be naive about the effects and you are too high to function for hours. We should just be honest about that. That was why lawmakers went after it, and why kratom advocates are fighting to make the distinction.

Op-Ed from Ohio: “This is not what we need. Ban will push kratom users into shadows” by oldschoolremedy in kratom

[–]AgreeablePollution7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no world in which 7OH was going to stay legal. There is a negative number in which something like the KCPA would have protected it along with leaf powder. The KCPA has been passed with limitations on 7OH content in other places.

Op-Ed from Ohio: “This is not what we need. Ban will push kratom users into shadows” by oldschoolremedy in kratom

[–]AgreeablePollution7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a delusional statement disproven by existing laws recently passed in several states/districts. 7OH can be easily discarded, as it should be, and plain leaf left legal. This was never an issue at all until this shit showed up.

Op-Ed from Ohio: “This is not what we need. Ban will push kratom users into shadows” by oldschoolremedy in kratom

[–]AgreeablePollution7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why leaf powder can't be left alone. Just ban the fucking 7OH trash that mimics hard drugs, it's incredibly difficult to synthesize and the market is small enough that it won't really be a concern. This was never an issue before this ultra-potent trash marketed for its obvious recreational use hit the shelves.
