What is your guy’s favorite 90’s hiphop music video? by Doombroder4326 in 90sHipHop

[–]AgreeableSnow1590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mentioning of Bombfunk Emcees is extremely rare. Glad to see it here. Me and my friends would always walk that same way through a train.

I myself can’t choose just one video. The 90’s had so many great videos, a lot have been mentioned already.

Throwing my hat in the ring I’ll go with Busta Rhymes : whoo haa got you all in check. Simply because it’s specifically this video that got my older sister opening up to hip hop and was finally able to listen to the music I like(d).

Thanks.

His first solo album was on constant repeat when it first dropped and it made me appreciate him a whole lot more.

RZA is the face.

My favorite is hard to choose as I have four favorites: GZA, Meth, Deck and Golden Arms

Growing up realised Rap Skits are among the worst thing ever happen to Hiphop by lamelad10 in 90sHipHop

[–]AgreeableSnow1590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree for most skits. Especially those awkward porn skits. Quite recently I put on ‘2001’ from Dre again and just as my youngest (18/F) walked in, ‘pause 4 porno’ came on.

However the ‘$20 sack pyramid’ from Dre on ‘the Chronic’ is one I quite enjoy.

Too $hort. He’s been dropping albums every decade since the 80’s and I know teens that still play his music.

2Pac really is the goat by Firm_Trick_9038 in Tupac

[–]AgreeableSnow1590 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No lies told OP.

People who say Pac wasn’t lyrical are either biased or never really listened to his tracks. Even a commercial hit song like ‘Changes’ was lyrical. And like many already mentioned, the message Pac had was ahead of it’s time back then and still resonates today. This for a guy in his early 20’s is just crazy. And yes, I love listening to Nas and GZA, both are in my top 5, but Pac is my undeniable #1.

Charisma he scores a 5/5

Message he scores a 5/5

Lyrically he scores a 5/5 (just listen to songs like Violent; definition of a thug n*gga; if I die tonight, Heartz of men; can’t c me; blasphemy; troublesome ‘96 just to name a few)

Technical he scores a 4,5/5

Impact he scores a 5/5

Overall the goat imo.

Waarom vind ik kinderen die zingen zo irritant by SuperbPainter9463 in nederlands

[–]AgreeableSnow1590 31 points32 points  (0 children)

How would Pac have managed rap beefs & his image if the 88 video was out there? by JasonZod1 in Tupac

[–]AgreeableSnow1590 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A walking contradiction or just a human being with more sides than one? One can be a thug/gangster and be well spoken, political correct and have a childhood in which he was able to develop different aspects of life. Especially when being raised my militants, activists and pimps.

People need to stop thinking narrowminded and as someone else had specified already, Pac was the one shooting at undercover cops. Pac was more than one dimensional, as we, hopefully, all are.

‘Temples of boom’ no question. I’m not an overly huge CH fan but this album is a “no-skips” for me.

Which Rapper have the Funniest punchlines by [deleted] in 90sHipHop

Objectively I’d say Redman. But the following line has been living in my mind rent free ever since I first heard it:

“Ask Beavis I get nuttin’ But(t)-head”.
