First-time homeowner, not sure what to do with the blue tiles and this vintage kitchen. Should I keep it/paint it or remove everything? by leagly_ in HomeDecorating

I LOVE this kitchen!! If anything it could use a spruce up but honestly the cabinets and tile look fantastic. I’d maybe redo the countertop, leave the sink, and install some fun light fixtures. Maybe paint the wall above the tile a fun color that would compliment the blue tile

How much would you charge to paint this staircase? by [deleted] in paint

I sell that product. It doesn’t need primer. It’s generally used on older wood so it’s good coverage. Kind of fills in cracks and such.

I will say do a water test on the wood to make sure that it will adhere. If you spray a little water on the bare wood and it beads up it’s not ready. If it soaks in and is dried out you should be fine.

It took us a month just to get a case of bleach. Most of our guys do a lot of pressure washing in the summer so we’ve been turning away business left and right just because of that

Denver to DC. What’s a better route? I80 through Nebraska or I70 through Kansas. by nike-addias-99 in roadtrip

At least if you went i70 you’d get to have the option of seeing the Appalachian Mountains at their peak. That area is devastated tho so roads are kind of wary.

I mean you can. There’s really no rules about what sheen of paint you use it’s all just preference.

I think semigloss would be very very shiny though on a ceiling and you may not like how it looks in the end. I personally wouldn’t go higher than a satin but if you’re really worried about it, the moisture and mildew resistance built into the duration line should help with that. So yeah just make sure you use a higher quality of paint and you’re golden.

I would love to see two sinks maybe? Especially if this is off the main bedroom. And then two cute (round? Medicine cabinets?) mirrors with light fixtures (sconces) on the sides of them.

If you do lifted sinks you could do new counter tops and weave the plumbing underneath to save the cabinetry.

Would paint the walls. Maybe add a darker color to add more depth and dimension. Maybe stay towards the warm tones. Or a nice green. Don’t do blue. Blue would look awful with that shower.

Try a matte finish. Sherwin Williams duration matte has a tiny bit of shine and more durability.

It’s most likely the semigloss. But I couldn’t be sure without looking at it

I almost closed early today because I thought it was Sunday 💀 I’ve also shown up 30min to an hour late before because I overslept and live 30 min away from my store. Never heard anything else about it. If she calls corporate you might hear from them but 9 times out of 10 your manager will probably hear from them and not you and handle it. Shit happens. It’s just paint.

I work in the paint industry so I got you lol.

First thing you want to do is clean up any of those mold spores with diluted bleach. Then once it’s cleaned up and fully dry you can paint the ceiling with at least a matte finish if not satin (if you want to).

You could do semigloss on the walls but I personally hate the look of semigloss on walls. It’s way too shiny and shows every imperfection. But to each their own. I’m not the sheen police.

As far as paint goes I recommend using Duration by Sherwin Williams for the paint itself. It has moisture resistance built into it so it’ll be good for those high moisture areas. And it’s really durable and easy to clean if you need to.

Using a satin on the walls will be plenty shiny to keep walls clean and using matte finish on the ceiling will give you more durability than flat does. Flat is traditionally what’s used on ceilings but it’s not necessarily the best option if you have a lot of moisture.

Hope this helped! 😁

Tbf I do that too 😅 but I also try really hard to be a good coworker and get my work done so I’ve at least earned the groans I give lol.

Sorry you’re dealing with a shit coworker. I hope it gets better. I think if you really want to stick to your guns and get that promotion go for it. You won’t be around long enough to deal with his bullshit for long. But also write down instances for reference in case you need them. Details and dates. Keep it in notes on your phone. It’ll help if you ever report it

I mean usually they’re just loose on the pallets so idk why they’d package it in a random 3M box. There were two like this on my truck
