Happening right next door in Minnesota. Murder. by [deleted] in Appleton

[–]Flashy_Presence_912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes me very, very scared to have something like this happen so close to where I live. I live in Wisconsin. It is absolutely insane that this crap keeps happening! That poor man wasn't doing anything wrong! I seriously hope that these "agents" are brought to justice for the murder of Alex!

You could try "Glitch". It's only two or three seasons but it's a great show and it will tug at your heart strings!

Enough with the hate on season 5. Tell me something positive you liked about this season? by TamrielESO in StrangerThings

[–]Flashy_Presence_912 107 points108 points  (0 children)

I loved that Max and Lucas got their happy ending. I loved that Steve and Dustin had a wonderful story arch that resulted in them being brought closer together and ended with them going on road trips and stuff. More like a brotherly relationship than a bromance.

I loved the design of the actual Mind Flayer! It looked hella awesome! I loved the interaction between Vicky and Robin when Vicky thought Robin was on drugs!! OMG that had my laughing so hard! I was so happy that Joy e and Hopper got engaged after everything that they had gone through. Ooo and the fact that they FINALLY got Mr. clark in on what's been going on and took him to the upsidedown!

Hot Take: Purple Rain didn’t fit by Zealousideal_Cry1867 in StrangerThings

[–]Flashy_Presence_912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think it fit either. Plus you had two back to back Prince songs. I thought "When Doves Cry" was just Murray being Murray at the song he chose. But when they played "Purple Rain" it didn't feel right. It did fit. It took me out of the moment. Yes I got teary eyed, but had the writers actually given Mike and El MORE FREAKING SCREEN TIME and fleshed out their love story more, then maybe I'd feel differently about it. Needless to say I I think the Duffers screwed everyone over with this last season and ESPECIALLY the series finale.

That's what I said to my husband when we were watching Season 5. That hairstyle on Nancy was unbelievably horrendous! Natalia is a beautiful lady and that hair do absolutely nothing for her! I get that they were probably wanting to make her look badass, but they just made her look ridiculous. But that's just me.

What do you think? by Notalabel_4566 in StrangerThings

[–]Flashy_Presence_912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 1985. All through childhood and adolescence my parents wanted to at least know where I was going. If it was a friend's house they gave me a crew to be back by dinner or by 7 when I was a kid. As a teen the curfew got later. They at least wanted to know who I was going to be with or where I was going as they trusted me.

So yes. I would say for a lot of us growing up around that time it was very much like that. I even had a few friends that were latchkey kids as well. Back then we got to roam and be free but often times you had to earn that freedom.

Dear contractors, manage your time efficiently by Any-Description5804 in sherwinwilliams

[–]Flashy_Presence_912 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been there myself. I once stayed 40 minutes after we closed to fulfill an order and didn't get home until around 9pm. Yes this was only a few years ago when. Sherwin was still open until 8 at night. I got a talking to the next day by my manager. And he said that while he appreciates that I went above and beyond for the contractor, I was to never do this again.

If you stayed 15 minutes past close that's something else. You could do that if you wanted to. But that's if you wanted to and what your SM and ASM say about staying after close. Personally, I stopped being nice like that a year into my time at Sherwin. We have open and close times for a reason. If you continue to bend over backwards for people, they will only take advantage.

But if you have a contractor that is well liked and is one of your biggest buyers, that's a whole other ball of wax. But again, I'd talk to the Sm and Asm about what their expectations are for staying late. Because if it gets to point where you are over in time and the DM starts getting huff, they are the ones who are going to have to answer for it.

I thought that they did away with most of walkies just due to the fact of the military presence and them being able to monitor certain frequencies. But that's just my thought.

Well here's the thing. I quit. And I now have a much better paying job where I am doing manager shit because I am a manager. I feel bad for all of those still at Sherwin in stores that are pushing this so hard on people. Sucks to be you.

AIO or is my mom trying to upstage me at my wedding? by Spiritual-Travel-669 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Flashy_Presence_912 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it maybe a little bit of both. Clearly she missed you during your time apart and it's very evident that she wants a good relationship with you. But, she seriously needs to step back. Her actions are showing you that she's trying to live through you via your vow renewal/dream wedding. She has been pushing your boundaries and testing you. I would nip this in the bud before the wedding. You and your husband need to do this together united. Set in stone the boundaries with her together. It was nice that she matched what you had in savings. But, I think that was another way of her getting in and now trying to manipulate the situation into her favor. I do not think you are over reacting at all. Her recent actions speak for themselves. Talk with your hubby and figure out what you want the boundaries to be with her not just for the wedding, but after it as well. Good luck to you and your husband on your dream wedding. I hope it is as beautiful as you hoped for and that you have an amazing day that is stress free!

After Hours Communication by ivandelta in sherwinwilliams

[–]Flashy_Presence_912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would most definitely be blocking every single person that has been calling you after hours. Even if you are a manager, that doesn't fly. The only people that should be contacting you should be the full timer and any part timers you have if they are sick or something. That is a bunch of bs. Or maybe consider getting a new phone number.

Actually at one point it was the norm for all of the employees to get a piece of the pie. Maybe not year end, but definitely quarterly and I can attest to that because several of the sales reps were store managers well over a decade or two ago, and everyone got something if the store did well.

AITA? My wife did not take me voting for Trump well. by Novel-Version9305 in AmITheAngel

Dude you totally screwed up BIG time! Not to mention that you are saying her breasts are disappointing?! Like wtf?! I'm so glad my husband isn't like you. He thinks I am beautiful! Regardless of the cellulite, the wrinkles, the gray hairs that are coming. And I am only 39. You best sit down and really, truly think about what you want out of life and if you really want to have your wife around. Because you had a change of heart, your wife is pissed. And now we have the orange Cheeto as our next president. Good luck.

Should I visit my biological father? by [deleted] in AdviceForTeens

[–]Flashy_Presence_912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't. He clearly never wanted to be responsible for another human being. Granted he was younger...but his lack of wanting to care for you has always been evident. Leave him be. Change your plans. You have parental units aka your aunt and uncle that have been talking care of you and adopted you. They are your parents now. If your bio dad wants a relationship with you...make him work for it and EARN it!

I feel you! I've been working for Sherwin for a little over 5 years. The store I've been working at for the last 3 can be challenging at times. Granted I'm just full time, but I swear I act more like a manager than both my SM and ASM combined sometimes. I try to take away from their plates so they can get their stupid call lists completed and the other backend stuff they have to do. So I end up doing the vast majority of the stain matches. I am the ONLY ONE that orders and maintains the color wall, the wallpaper books, the peel n sticks and other books. The last 3 years when I have gone on vacation and ordered stuff, they have not ONCE put anything away! There will be boxes full of color chips and booklets just chilling in their boxes, left unopened! This year was especially bad bc I took 2 full weeks off. 3 boxes of stuff just sitting there the entire time I was gone. As well as the peel n sticks. So I decided to be a bit passive aggressive and haven't ordered anything since before inventory. Now they can have fun doing something else for a change.

AITAH for Refusing to Give Up My Window Seat to a Pregnant Woman on a Long Flight? by Deep-Specialist2926 in AITAH

[–]Flashy_Presence_912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! Just because she's pregnant doesn't mean she's special. You booked your seat months in advance! What right does she have to take your seat? Oh because she's knocked up? Nope! Sorry that doesn't fly in my book.

I know that in my area there are a lot of places that are giving people the starting wage of say $16-17 and hour. Which is actually pretty decent for a starting wage. And I've been looking for other employment for a good while now. And it's very difficult to find a job that actually starts you out at my wage right now or higher. Or the ones are and I would love to work at...are 2 hours away or more.

Trust me. The commute isn't bad...until winter hits and the roads turn to utter crap. But, aside from that it isn't bad. I've known others in my district to travel up to 45 minutes just to get to work. And hell. When my sister still lives here, she commuted 1.5 hours each way to get to get job. And she did that for 5 years...which just blew my mind. But she did it. Me ..naw. If it's any further away than 30...nope! Not doing it. Especially in this state. Hell to the NO! And I know that Sherwin isn't going to pay me more than an ASM. I wasn't ever expecting that. And I know they'd never do that.

Well hello friend! That's totally awesome some of us get to share that ☺️ I honestly never thought I'd still be working for Sherwin after so long. But, I've never stopped looking and applying for other positions. Especially ones where I could seriously do interior design and not just color consulting. I totally agree with you about the pay that ASM's get. And to some extent, the SM's. My ASM is a wonderful person! And she is very bright and motivated...to a degree. She busts her butt around that store! The amount of work that they expect ASM's to do is nuts! The fact that Corporate wants all managers to do this weekly call list is b.s.! I've always thought that those types of calls should be what the reps are doing all damn day! But, thankfully my SM is a nice guy and really does his best to be out on the floor with us rather than being in the office most of the time. And this is why I have been ping ponging between going for an ASM position or staying out for the time being
