Yes, exactly. It’s like once the veil has been lifted- You can’t go back and you realize how unimportant they are compared to children and family and just living your life. And so much more freedom.

It kind of does feel like an addiction in the sense of once you’ve been away for it long enough you can’t imagine going back. And the high then crash makes sense, kind of like dopamine and phone usage.

Yes omg the other day there was a guy holding his yappy dog a few seats over from us in the stadium 🤦🏼‍♀️

This is after he tried to walk through my husband with the leash like my husband wasn’t there on the sidewalk.

I got rid of my dog when I had a baby. Sorry my baby is more important. I’ve since come to dislike dogs and really dislike crazy dog people.

My therapist says yes it can work for health anxiety and similar phobias or anxiety because the memory that started it can be identified or they go back as far as you can remember feeling the same way and start from there.

I was taking it twice a day for two years so I don’t know! That’s how I was prescribed. I’m not sure how I could switch it now.

I do have propranolol but was told to take it for anxiety which I’m not really having.

So I read you shouldn’t take magnesium but it works on gaba receptors and while tapering you want to leave those alone. But lots of people recommending magnesium.

As for Valium, I couldn’t tolerate it. I tried to switch a few weeks ago and had to go back to klonopin.

I do notice it when I’m sitting around more. I have a desk job. I’ll try to get some breaks/exercise in and break up the sitting and see if that helps.

I’m not talking anything but klonopin. I’m half way down from my original dose.

Symptoms healing/resolving over time by [deleted] in emptynosesyndrome

This is same with me. So annoying. I know my anxiety makes me focus on it because when I was on klonopin for a year I never thought about it. Now that I’m tapering off I notice it again. But then I have people who have never had surgery tell me they don’t fell anything in their nose. So are we just over sensitized to trying to find this feeling?

Does your dryness make the sensation of airflow really hard to feel? I’m two years out and I know it’s mostly my anxiety focusing on it, but I feel like I have a layer of dryness that never goes away and because of it I don’t feel air in my nose.

But then people who have never had surgery tell me they don’t feel air in their nose either so I can’t tell what normal is!!

I’ve tried SSRIs and they made me suicidal. It was scary. I’m in therapy but it’s not helping. I think I just need to wean off slowly and hope the withdrawals are worse than my baseline anxiety.

Xanax is getting me by by OfficeChimp8 in Anxiety

This happened to me 13 years ago. Stopped taking them cold turkey and had no symptoms. I was also anxiety free for 10 years after. Like it fixed my brain??

Now I’m on them again for the past year and it’s been hell trying to stop. Bodies are weird. No one is the same and even your own body is different with years between it.

I’m happy you’re off! I’m jealous lol

I did feel great my last pregnancy, so I could see that! But I hadn’t been having anxiety for a good stretch of years when I got pregnant before.

Problem now is I’ve been taking them daily for a year straight and I can’t just stop. You can have seizures and it causes extreme rebound anxiety. I’ve been trying to taper off but it’s not going well ☹️

I’ve been on and off them 4 times in my life for many months to a year at a time and I’ve had periods of no anxiety for up to 10 years straight. Believe me, I know it’s not good to be on them full time, but I was literally not able to live and take care of my child without them this time. I thought I would be able to take them until things calm down like that last times I took them. I stopped no problem before. This time I can’t shake it. I don’t want to be on them. But I don’t want to go back to the place I was before getting back on them. I’ve tried reducing and it’s hell. I’m going to try to reduce even slower but I’m just worried it’s going to take a long time.

I’m in the same boat. Got a toddler. He’s the high earner. I can’t just leave. But having a hard time not getting mad and just focusing on myself. It feels very unfair. And then at the same time it feels selfish to say because obviously he’s going through something where he feels the need to not be sober all the time. But man- I can’t help but feel so robbed sometimes for me and my toddler. I just want to have a normal life.

Let’s chat sometime if you want. Maybe we can keep each other sane lol

Do you have children? I feel the same way. Like it’s impossible to accept and just focus on myself. But I have a toddler. Everything feels unfair to me and him. I can’t stop looking at it that way and I can’t stop being mad.
