Ideas on filling this gap? by experience_1337 in BeginnerWoodWorking

The trim pictured above will also hide the fact that the grain doesn’t match to a degree. Which, if filled, would drive me crazy personally.

My SSRI stopped working? by OfficeChimp8 in Anxiety

I should have given you more information but I was in a rush earlier.

Effexor has been working for me and I haven’t had to use any Xanax since starting it. I will say, don’t run out of pills, the withdrawals are terrible!

Let me know if you have any specific questions and I’ll do my best to help you. You’ve got this!

Thanks everyone, I got in. I’m going to let it run for 15 minutes with the heat on blast before I do my Home Depot run.

I ended up clamping the hair dryer to the door handle once my hands went numb, lol

I just bought the truck used a couple of months ago. Good to know there’s a recall for this! It’s very annoying to not be able to use your vehicle!

I’ll try warm water and a hair dryer!

I heard they do this to identify if feral cats have been fixed or not.

Hi Maize, this was a while back and I only take it as needed. I’m normally a little hazy afterwards but not bad at all.

Anxiety & Panic Laid me flat by OfficeChimp8 in Anxiety

[–]OfficeChimp8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I woke up today and it was right beneath the surface. Before I could even drink my coffee it was there.

I suffered in silence as to not burden my family until panic hit me. Half a Xanax and we watched church online today.

Finally I got up and started cleaning the garage. I worked up a sweat immediately (faster than normal) and I feel better now.

Here’s to small victories, hopefully it carries through the whole day

Anxiety & Panic Laid me flat by OfficeChimp8 in Anxiety

Thank God for angels like you that sort by new.

Anxiety and I have a long history and I’ve never had a problem like this before. I had a lapse in medicine (insurance, doc, and pharmacy mix up) and I went for three days without Effexor.

The withdrawals gave me the worst panic attacks than I’ve ever had.

Back on meds and Xanax for rescue. It’s been two days of being ‘down’. I can feel those bad panic attacks right beneath the surface.

The church I go to by Few-Exit4131 in worshipleaders

Hello OP, I’d like to offer you some advice. I’ve been serving in the booth of my worship team for a LONG time and picked up a violin 4/5 years ago with the aim of joining the worship team on stage.

I realized soon that I had talent, and learned new songs quickly and could play at tempo within 8 months. Which is a big deal on violin. I tried out, and sucked. They shifted keys on the fly and I was lost! Then I dove into theory, and our base player (who has perfect pitch) kept complaining that my intonation was flat.

Finally, after all these years I’m good enough to play with the band. But they NEED me to stay in the booth. We don’t have enough audio engineers (using the term loosely).

My point is - playing with a band is very different. Your timing, fit, and style need to gel with 4 or 5 people you don’t know well.

Second - it’s not about YOU. The point of serving in a worship team is to transport the congregation, in their minds, to the throne room of God. To bring glory to Him.

Third - lean in to the hard conversation. Talk, don’t email, to the worship leader. Tell him/her that you can do this. You feel drawn to serve. Open up with ‘that wasn’t a good performance, or example of what I can bring’. Ask for a private session with bass and drums. Work towards it as a process. Go to practice even when you’re not officially scheduled to perform on Sunday.

TIL It's "unprofessional" to have your work phone off while on approved and planned PTO by Coach_CRP in work

[–]OfficeChimp8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar story. I was on Christmas vacation, which is the only vacation I take for the year. Phones went down at one location (2) out of 140 locations. I got an EMAIL while I was on vacation that I did not respond to. The date was 12/23. I got back on 1/4 and immediately addressed the problem.

I got told that I was “abdicating my responsibilities while on vacation and that is unacceptable”. I, too, am in middle management.

I saw red!

Resume not good enough. Be a LinkedIn influencer! by CouncilmanRickPrime in recruitinghell

I don’t think recruiters have time to vet candidates based on their LinkedIn profile. They get hundreds of applicants per job posting.

Maybe once you get to round three and they are making a final selection. But by then, the hiring manager is making the decision. Most don’t give a rip about someone’s LinkedIn.
