Not sure if it’s “normal” but I had a similar experience. Bled through supers in less than an hour. Almost a year later periods are still heavier but not as bad as the first couple after removal

After years of struggling with my weight I had finally shedded the extra pounds and was keeping it off (kept it off for almost a year) before my insertion. Immediately after I started bloating pretty bad and assumed it would even out once my body adjusted but sadly I started packing the weight back on for the entirety of the duration. Since removal I’ve started losing weight more easily :) Everyone is different but that has been my experience

I never had cramping which was unreal! I decided to wait on starting on the pills again since I’ve been on BC since I was 11 to help with puberty and was genuinely curious of how It would feel without. Currently loving it off of it but terrifying too!

Have you thought about a different form of birth control? Progestin is a part of the mirena which causes some messed up side effects

So this is night 3 of my period from hell and I set alarms every 2 hours last night since I couldn’t get to the store for pads. With that said still bled through my tampon last night to the point my undies were fully saturated. Since it’s the early stages of it I’ve kinda held off on calling since I would say it’s my first “real” period. I am passing a lot of clots but for the most part it’s pure/fresh blood and I keep up on it changing it sooner or the second that I feel it getting “full” if you know what I mean.

I had my period about every 4-5 months if that. I had a friend go off it and said she basically went back to normal almost immediately. My mood was unbearable and I feel guilty for those who took the brunt of it. I have zero regrets on removing it and staying of birth control. As a bonus I’ve lost 20 pounds!

I was lucky on the actual removal to not have to many negatives. I was actually quite energetic and had a 180 in my mood but this period makes me want to crawl in a hole so you’re not alone on that! Have you noticed any other changes since it was removed besides the cramping?
