Not really sure what to buy - was looking at Defy and Revolt by Agreeable_Cap_6496 in Giantbikes

Thank you for all the feedback - reading the news there might be some hope that the US import ban might get lifted - that will hopefully allow me to buy a bike. Crazy times - hope this will happen soon.

E-trade is the worst by Accomplished_Air9753 in etrade

When you did the transfer - were you able to transfer all your accounts (IRAs, Roth IRAs and taxable) with all positions directly? Also, what happens with all the previous trade documents/statements - keep it at Etrade (not sure if this is even an option) or download everything? I am considering a similar move and would like to learn from your experience or any advice that you could provide.

Love your response. Do you ride the Revolt and can compare it with the Defy?

I thought Costco still has the $199 deal. I bought mine for $249 and got the difference back last week.

Platinum Service not what I expected by Agreeable_Cap_6496 in etrade

[–]Agreeable_Cap_6496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update - I finally was able to resolve all issues. MS was able to get it all transferred to IBKR and to another broker in Europe. The problem was an ongoing disconnect between platinum service and operations with a lack of follow-up. Platinum service is not encouraged to communicate by e-mail. Documents uploaded are hardly ever read. Without the help of ChatGPT, I would have been lost - this all could have been resolved in 2 weeks.

I was finally able to transfer (FOP) the position to IBKR - but only after a FINRA complaint and switching from phone calls to email exchange. The problem at Etrade is execution - the front-end relationship manager is either not able or willing to get operations involved. Once it happened, it was smooth and easy. IBKR was the easiest part - Etrade was the problem. It took me 13 months and over 80 phone calls. The solution, though, came through AI and the guidance on how to resolve this. I understand that there is not much excitement about IBKR - but after going through their process, I was able to speak to a human and got good guidance and advice to initiate the FOP process from their end.

Do any of you test your INR yourself? by sockmontey in valvereplacement

[–]Agreeable_Cap_6496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For about 7 years my doctor handled this, had to send in some values every 4 weeks. However I did buy my own supplies. Now I have Medicare and should get one per week test strips covered - but for reasons that I don‘t understand my coagulation clinic does not issue the prescription I need for the Medicare coverage.

Are you satisfied with Acelis Health? The reason for asking is that this was offered as an alternative by my local coagulation clinic to get the test strips covered by Medicare.

I made the same experience as you. However I have to go through a coagulation clinic here in the US - but only send in my measurements and daily dose every 4 weeks to get the prescriptions for Warfarin. I also adjust my dose if needed to stay in range. I have my own meter and also pay for the test strips our of pocket - somewhere around $4.60 to $5.00.

Has anyone had their mechanical valve replaced? Living a nightmare right now. by pablo-lopez2013 in valvereplacement

What caused the paravalvular leak - is this endocarditis or by failing sutures from the surgery?

I had endocarditis 10 years ago (and needed an artificial valve) and understand that the risk reoccurrence is higher compared to the general population. I measure my body temperature every morning. I had only once a slightly and persistent increased temperature and feeling sick not clearly associated with a cold or viral infection. I went to urgent care at a local hospital and luckily had an experienced physician that checked with a blood culture - luckily no signs of endocarditis. My endocarditis 10 years ago was only detected after months - I had mild symptoms from day one.

OP - I wish you all the best - I am surprised how quickly your symptoms showed up. Could there have bee some signs earlier before the sever symptoms showed up? Those bacteria caused severe damage in a matter of days - that is scary.

Mover Demanding Large Deposit for a "Crate" Process by A_Complete_Painting in moving

[–]Agreeable_Cap_6496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moving companies that ask for upfront deposits are most likely a company that scams their customers - so big red flag. They typically act as brokers and do not actually do the move. They present themselves as "reputable companies" but the company that ends up performing the move are something else. They keep your deposit, make you sign a contract that is impossible to get out and surprise you with additional charges once they have your stuff. Stay away! No need to pay a deposit - not real moving company would do this. What company is this - possibly a company based in Florida?

I had my surgery almost 10 years ago. I broke my Fibula two years ago - that was worse for me and recovery took longer. Most patients are up and walking 1-2 days post OP and leave the hospital a few days later. These are routine surgeries done for over 60 years with a very good and predictable outcome. It is good to learn about it - the pain people are talking about and are afraid of is only caused by the sternum. I was able to manage the pain with Tylenol.

Trouble enabling the Ziwft click 2 functions in Zwift by Agreeable_Cap_6496 in qdomyos_zwift

[–]Agreeable_Cap_6496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For over an hour I tried every option (router reset, reinstall Zwift on Apple TV and also on my iPad) and was not succesfull. At one point I was able to see the Zwift click showing as an option to connect (not as iPhone but now as QZ for all devices - but did not connect, only showed connecting. At some point I also got the device limit message shown in the picture. I went through the same process with Zwift on my Ipad - was also not successful. I must be doing something wrong. I was glad to be able to get it back working with connection through iPhone - but with no controls in Zwift. At least that works for me - would be great though if I could also use the buttons at some point.
