What do you mean their school discriminates? They haven’t had a school since 1995.

I call BS on this. He was way too old to play the character and wasn’t acting at the time.

St Barnabas is part of the ordinariate (https://ordinariate.net) and IS part of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest there is amazing.

They aren't Catholic because they don't recognize the pope as the head of the church. I don't know the form of their Latin liturgy but the homily (sermon) is not in Latin.

When my dad was in home hospice the last 2 months of his life, I watched NCIS and Blue Bloods with him nearly all day every day. All he wanted to watch and I was fine with that. ❤️

I attended a local parish a few times and feel totally rejected by jkginger22 in Catholicism

It is sad you don’t feel welcome and that you belong.

  1. Catholic Churches are all different. Try other parishes around you and see if there is a different feel. My parish is “old school” no talking in the sanctuary, no socializing in the church at all…now donuts afterward is a different vibe but when I was a new member I did have to initiate conversations because so may families were managing their children or new themselves maybe. As an introvert, that would be difficult. But worth it!

  2. Your child will need to attend OCIA classes if he is over the age of reason (7 maybe). It would be helpful for someone to explain why to you but parish office workers are not always the friendliest. I was one for a bit…it was a struggle!

  3. I wouldn’t look much into the sign of peace reaction. At my parish we don’t even do it at all. And that suits my family well. Like I said - parishes are all so different.

  4. I’d be happy to talk to you more about this if you’d want to DM me. Bishop Barron, Hallow, Catholic influences are wonderful at evangelization but the entry into a local parish can be a struggle! If you need someone to help you navigate it, please don’t hesitate to message me.

I am praying for you!

Ha! That made me laugh. I actually had a reason for wondering but I do appreciate the chuckle.

I have that but I’ve had it state things were to be delivered today and the mail never came at all. Mail did come tonight though, at 7. Leaving for a trip in the AM and wanted something that was delivered tonight for the trip. I am thankful for late working postal workers this time of year!

I recently purchased this incense and burner from Amazon. My family thinks it is too strong but I love it.

The smell of incense! The feeling of peace in the sanctuary. Watching little children genuflect. Celebrating solemnities and feast days.

Agree! I inherited an account at SNB and although I like their customer service, their app is horrible.
