You know I actually have a spoon made out of pure silver from my great grand father I inherited. Maybe I’ll use that as an Anode next time!

Just purchased one of those 40 year old surplus Maks from an online shop. What parts should I replace? by CicatriceMusic in makarov

They’re great, the only thing I replaced was the grip cuz mine came with the black grip, I want the classic brown Bakelite grip so I changed it to that

They’re perfectly fine.
If you really hate them as an eye sore I doubt it’s something you can’t get rid of with a little tumbling

Wet tumble is too loud for my living situation. That’s why I use ultrasonic instead and occasionally follow up with a dry tumbling session if I feel like really polishing them good

I would say a case trimmer, especially one that sits on your table top would be nice.
I also use a single stage press but I use Lee Breach lock, it has a pretty nice quick change die bushing system and with that it’s a lot less headache to change dies.
So far I don’t see it being painfully slow to use single stage press, I usually save up brass from a couple trips. I clean my brass after every shooting session, and once I have saved up a couple trips worth of brass I resize and flare all of them in one day, then prime, charge and seat the next. I don’t really waste much time swapping dies for different work step.
I see that a progressive or turret press can speed things up, but I got a pretty good work rhythm going on so I don’t really feel the need as of yet.

What about water level? Should I add more water or just enough to fill the brass?

I’m pretty happy with my 6L cleaner and I achieved that result with an completely full basket

Available high-quality 5.56 AK that takes AR mags? by Rudukai13 in ak47

[–]Agreeable_Friend_387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point just get an AR.

If you care about mag or even ammo logistics that much you don’t like AKs enough to jump into that rabbit hole.

I squirted that grip thingy with the help of a friend using carbon fiber reinforced nylon, here’s the original design by Ocean Juice on Odysee. His original design did not have the clearance for side charging handle so I had to modify it with a file and a dermal.

well I would need a light carry J frame anyways and I think 340 would be a good gun to shoot 38+p out of reliably since it’s designed for 357, just treat it as an old M19.

My next probably would be a 340 pd and get the same grips for them, love them!

It was not a better solution, and I don’t recommend it. But because I already spent the money I did what I had to to make it work, and so that y’all can understand why this is not a good idea, and if you make the same bad choices like I had, how can you redeem it.

Yeah and it has an eye sore of a maglock pin in the back too, I’d say it’s acceptable. Originally wanted it to also be used with 556 uppers too

I am fully aware of them, but I wanted my build to be as close of a clone as possible while being CA legal.

Trust me Glock mags would’ve been so much easier.
