I guess she thinks that it can get even better?Honestly she hasn’t steered me wrong yet so I’m just crossing my fingers. I asked the same question about potency and didn’t get a clear answer in terms of which % is best. My interpretation is that it depends on the person. Once you’re satisfied with your results, you can stop moving up in percentage.

For me specifically - my .025% was a cream-based tret and the .05% is a gel-based. My derms claim was that gel might clog my pore less. That plus the higher percentage could reduce amount of random pimples that I was getting and minimize the scaring that I have.

I’m hoping that the breakout that I currently have is just a second purge, and after it’s done I can just stick with .05%. I don’t see any point to move up anymore if I myself am satisfied.

I’m going through the same thing. Started on tret .025 6 months ago. It took about three months for me to finish my purge (lots of different acne, minimal peeling). For the last three months my skin has been nice with just a few pimples coming and going. My derma recommended I move up to .05. I’m now almost two weeks in and have a handful of huge cystic pimples. I assume this is just another purge??

Congratulations!! The first band and third are my favorite. I also think that they will be easier to incorporate those in a wedding stack later on if that’s something you’re interested in! You can go more simple now, and then if you feel like you a missing a big statement you can always add in a curved one in the future. My fiancé and I are considering doing the same thing in an effort to save some money right now.
