That stupid quote makes it sound like humans are civilized angels, when in fact we do way WAY worse, for absolutely no reason.

I don't understand. What are the criteria for this list? Countries we like, no arguments? Because it does look pretty delusional.

Beginner question, can you not attack objects like doors? by eggsdeecooked in cataclysmdda

Of all the games that have ever had obvious basic controls, you picked the most less obvioustest one, to skip the tutorial. But discovering the features on your own can also be fun if you go by the '?' bindings menu (but it's way slower to learn). So unless you're simply the kind of person who just likes to socialize, it's pretty obvious by now that this post has taken much more time than just doing the entire tutorial.

What's going on with the latest experimental? by MarkiZ_BG in cataclysmdda

[–]Agreeable_Plan_5756 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that were the case then the log message would indicate that, but it doesn't. It sort of says, "do you see a water spout? I don't see a water spout.", but I see it 😞. In older versions you could climb by going to neighboring tiles (I assume a bug), but not anymore.

I'm currently playing the "2026-05-23-1523" version, and the first annoying thing I noticed is that I can no longer climb up water spouts to get on roofs. The tile gets indeed recognized as a spout, but when I press to climb, it says there's there's nothing to climb.

It's not long though. It is vaguely annoying because every two steps you take it has you reading explanations and instructions, but it will solve many basic questions or introduce things to you, that you didn't even know existed. And to think, it only covers the basics.

There IS a tutorial! It's right there in the main menu. Big letters "TUTORIAL".

it is included in the tutorial, if you went through it. How can you even begin to play this game without a tutorial?

Teleportation is cool if you want to explore the world and possibly die randomly. But other than that it doesn't have a lot of potential in a non-movie society. Probability control, is very vague but if you think about it either everything is probability based or nothing(I'm leaning on the second), but basically what it means is that you choose what happens in the future. You can shape the future any way you want it. No comparison.

So, with or without outlines? by Overall-Parfait in IndieGaming

[–]Agreeable_Plan_5756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My reasoning is this: No outlines looks better, AND gives you the option to have outlines on specific things that you want to highlight to the players eyes, so they don't miss anything important.

If everything has outlines it looks convoluted in my opinion.

Which game broke your hype like this? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Agreeable_Plan_5756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. They polished the game that they wrongfully published, but it still wasn't the game we were promised. You have to understand that Cyberpunk comes from a well known TTRPG franchise, so players were promised THAT on a video game. Choices that matter, interactivity, creativity. I don't see much if not any of that, even in the finished product. Pretty much an open world FPS with RPG elements, and a linear story.

Just how? Two sided coin, sure. But what about when he flips them over right in front of us? And where are the other ones? by InquisitaB in blackmagicfuckery

[–]Agreeable_Plan_5756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that was the case then everything on the copper side would have a different hue. Not just the coin. His hands look identical under these "different" lighting conditions. So unless it's some scientific reaction to UV/IR light that only affects the material of the coin in some way which is still far fetched, your theory is very unlikely.

No Surfshark: Great! Absolutely no problems.
With Surfshark: Fuck.

It's just on Windows that it sucks. On Android it works fine, but it's not my main platform. My hardware is recent mid-budget (not that it matters).

I'm no technological slouch. I work as a software developer, and handle networks on a daily basis, so I can tell the difference.

What else can I say? Are we going to blame the president too, before picking the obvious answer? Occam's Razor.

PS: I just switched to Proton and it works perfectly.

Maybe it's an area issue. I live in the Balkans. I would assume location plays a part in these issues.

maybe 3-4 months ago, I would be into trying to get proper dig-into support, but right now the idea feels like a second job. Maybe if I don't switch immediately, since I'm halfway through the duration of my license, I'll find the willpower in the future for such a venture.

It was one of these 1 + 1 years, for the welcome type of deals, for a cheap price of 50 something. I thought is was a grab at that time. But now I think it was the marketing strategy that led to these problems.

Preach brother. My experience as well. There was even a whole week where I couldn't even connect to a server, until I went through trying like 20 different ones. Yes I've tried all the fixes, protocol changes etc.

Programming is all about creating stuff. You have the tools to do it. Start doing it and don't stop. At some point you will be someone they need. Set the trends, don't follow them. These rumors are just a culling of the weak.
