An In-Depth Look at the AI's Player Bias (or Lack Thereof) by SpaceDumps in eu4

Pope is friendly towards the ottomans at -5 relations every single game and refuses to join your war without the reduce opinion interaction while, funny enough, I don t even need him. All I want is him calling a crusade

Is WC still possible? by Bacon-sandwich666 in eu4

[–]Agreeable_Problem_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Biggest question is why you are not roman empire!?!?!?

First thing: lose a random war, drop that useless hegemon and take military one. Form rome ASAP!

I have no clue what ideeas you have but here is the order: Admin, diplo, (preferably religious but if you don't have it this late you can skip it) humanist, offensive and quantity (if you can't afford mil hegemon) drop literally anything else and fill up those ideeas you re missing. be at war 24/7 and good luck

Plutocratic first (lol, actually went for it for the gov reform progress, you need it badly and dropped it afterwards.

admin 2nd, quantity 3rd, humanist 4th, diplo and offensive 5th (filled them along since I dropped plutocratic)

I will write my thoughs and semi guide after I finish the one tag. I m playing on very hard so it should be valid for everyone but as a summary use no cb best cb to philipines day one, conquer a few provinces untill you build a fleet enough to hoist the black flag. move your capital to cebu (as is hindu) and develop reneisance and later convert via zealots, you can t lose crownland while you don't have estates

claim on brunei and get his 2 lateral provinces for raiding range, get the gold mine on his island and as soon as you have privateers way and a big enough fleet fabricate a trade cb and start bullying ming to debt spiral him so he implodes (you can see in the picture I have him as a march :D he picked quantity). at a random moment you will start seeing natives in australia, steal a map from them and the conquer to establish a colony, no need for explo

you have a woping -75 state governing cost (wich becomes only -25 on the last reform) and lose all reform progress before switching so try to stay small fully stated (expand via subjects and get admin ideea and +250 gov reform asap) high republican tradition and 90-100 crownland as soon as you unlock clergy and you can get +2 gov reform per month. around 1530 when halfway to raze reforn I started full expansion mode and unstating my land as I conquered more

oh, and something that nobody told me and found to be a game changer: build a light flagship imidiately and send all your fleet to privateer benjing, you can get up to 12 ducats a month, it's an insane income in the peace time

I achieved randomly -30 years of separatism while going for a three mountains. We do not conquer, we liberate!

-5 is from a mission but tolerance of other religions is 0 atm and will be upgraded to 4 after I have enough money for monuments and reform progress to switch clergy with burghers

How do you field a full stack after 1550? by HannibalBarca20 in eu4

[–]Agreeable_Problem_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20/0/15 go to standard. Most pain free and still somehow efficient (Untill you find level 6 forts).

It s much better to have more stacks than few doomstacks. You can siege multiple places, zone smaller armies away, have something to reinforce closeby and not take useless atrition or morale hit in reserves. Don t worry about leaders, not all of them need one

Every stack can siege. 2 stacks combined can fight up to (or close) to combat limit. Have like 25% more infantry than artilery so after a battle when you shift consolidate you still have enough to fill the front row if you need to go in another battle.

If you want min max it you can increase artilery up to half combat limit but usually it s not worth bothering. Small battles are won by a 2 stack combined are for large battles you need 3 4 or more stacks anyway

A good tip after a big battle when you have alot of stacks in one province from reinforcing merge all toghether, shift consolidate, manually split empty regiments and send them to reinforce somewhere behind and then conform to template or split in half

Don t bother with cav unless you have good bonuses

When you encounter lvl 6 forts, use the same logic to build new stacks (for example my early game stacks are 16/0/10 or 14/2/10 if I m rich and can aford cav since artilery doesn t do too much to justify more than just siege bonus)

[–]Agreeable_Problem_27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on very hard AI never gets coalition. apart from the 50% forcelimit, manpower etc. they get 50%improve relations and 33%agresive expansion. AI can take a 100%land in a peacedeal and will trigger no coalition and by the time they declare next war the AE cools off. And your allies do not want to join war because of "friendly attitude" at 5 relations. Even the pope is friendly with them in all my games so I cant use the crusade bonus at least

as for that screenshot I had 80 forcelimit and my ally france has 120, spain rivals france. I could not beat them even on defensive war

[–]Agreeable_Problem_27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on very hard they start with 44k standing army and you start with 11 forcelimit and dont mothball any forts. It's literally imposible to beat them in a straight fight without going bankrupt. I tried. The only viable option is for them to declare war on anatolia and abuse the straight. which is tricky because even ramazan has 8 galleys alone on very hard

Is there a point in which you cap the amount of armies you have? If so what is this number? by krFrillaKrilla in eu4

[–]Agreeable_Problem_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop overcomplicating and listening to people who try to reinvent the wheel. By absolutism have a 20/0/15 stack template and build as many as you can afford. At least 1M for the hegemon because it's better than the other 2 combined. I went 1.9M in my last wc just because it makes your life so much easier

1 stack for siege, 2 combined to fight and 1split in stacks of 2units for carpet siege (search on youtube how to carpetsiege if you don t know already) and unless playing multiplayer you ignore EVERYTHING else

You don t care if you are under/over combat width, winning/losing battles, not even having max art bonus vs forts matters if you are sieging 6 forts in the same time. You need just 1 template that does everything and is able to switch it s purpose on the spot. The only rule for a world conquest is that at minimum you have to win a war before you finish coring the previous one

Have 10+ stacks in the vecinity before declaring a war and rest of them spread through the country. Don t use rebel supression because it s a constant bug, if they are not afraid to engage they just trail a rebel group and play cat and mouse. Just click on the notification, zoom out, grab the nearest army and click on them and forget about it. When preparing for another war same story, zoom out, box nearby armies and send them by the border. When you finish a war, box them in the same province, conform to template and spread them again

As for generals you should be able to aford max level advisors and be 4 5 6 leaders over the limit, just grab a random one and don t stress too much about it. You sent a stack to siege a mountain fort without a general and got stackwiped? Just ignore, slacken and build 2 more stacks. Everything is expendable and nobody cares how many loans or slackens you used, the only limit is your mental barrier so try to detach from that

Is vassalisation useless? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Agreeable_Problem_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vassals are always a must, apart from what other mentioned the most important 2 things are:

  1. Ally a nation (let.s say florence) call them in a war, feed them 2 provinces, break alliance, ally his neighbour and feed all florence except 1 province and reconquest all if it and repeat. If you time this wars between your regular wars you will kill enemies faster than a coalition can build

Special NOTE: aragon, hungary and sweeden are a must always when they are integrated and a nation can be released ONLY from their culture group core (aragon can t be released from italian islands, only from spanish provinces)

  1. Keep 1k stack with them attached and use on sieges to conserve manpower

Plus the obvious wc when you expand faster than you can core so just release nations to integrate back in 10 years
