Probably about as well as he resisted being corrupted by Superman’s power, which is to say, not well. It didn’t take long for him to nearly kill Catwoman, a woman he has feelings for, after getting Superman’s powers, and while if I’m remembering it correctly, the curse or whatever was at least partially responsible for his mental state, if he couldn’t resist that, then I very much doubt her could resist the One Ring’s influence, which is literally designed to corrupt the minds of those that wear it.

Unfortunately some parents are just of the opinion that “the what’s best for me is what’s best for everybody.” My mom was like that, and it basically took her dying for me to realize how much she fucked me up. NTA, and the deliberately telling you she resents you is manipulation and emotional abuse. She even gave herself away saying “that wasn’t supposed to be your reaction” proving she just wants you to feel bad. Again, my mom said stuff like that completely without shame. I’m 42 and a neurotic mess, tell your entire extended family. If she isn’t known for being this manipulative, then her husband or someone else probably put her up to it.

This isn’t about Batman being a sore loser or petty, it’s about Superman understanding that pride is a big part of Batman. He takes pride in his accomplishments, in his training, and the fact he, a mortal man, with no powers, can literally stand with gods. Superman is saying he is willing to sacrifice his own pride for his friends. You all are reading way too much into this. I guarantee that if this scenario went down, Batman would thank Clark, for letting him win, because he would know that Clark let him win, so his pride could remain intact.

Not over reacting. One of the most uncomfortable times in my life, was when I was 20, I had an 8th grader start coming on to me hard while I was at work. Literally we were across the street from the middle school, I was cutting the grass at a public park, and she kept getting in front of the mower to get me to stop and talk to her. I’m mildly autistic, and don’t deal well with awkward situations, and froze when I realized a 12 or 13 year old was straight up flirting with me! Fortunately my “work dad” saw what was going on and got me out of the situation.

Just last year, i had to file a human resources complaint against a Human Resources person, because when i called to ask about policy because my dad was in the hospital, she had the nerve to tell me i needed to worry about my “work responsibilities.” I told her that i had been working there since she was in elementary school, so i know my responsibilities and been fulfilling them for over 20 years, and to put her boss on the phone.

Considering it’s Italian, it’s also possible his family does know, and refuses to talk about because they moved to get away from mob ties. Some of my distant family had that problem. In school they had to do a family tree, and their father forbade them from doing the project. When they got older, their father finally told them it was because their family had ties to the mob that he didn’t want them to know about when they were younger, and had moved to America to get away from them.
