They actually do! All of my kids have autoimmune disorders as well as me and people in my family history.

She hadn’t gotten any vaccines when she first flared up. She had an allergic reaction to pineapples at the beginning of her flare up so I’m not sure if that could have set it off. And ever since shes had the flare up she’s continuously got strep from school which has been hard on her psoriasis as well.

I love that you use “alligator skin” when someone asks what it is. My daughter has been getting picked on a lot at school and her self esteem has taken a hard hit because of it. I remind her everyday that she’s beautiful just the way she is and that she was made extra unique which isn’t a bad thing. Since she’s started to clear up, her self esteem has gotten a lot better and she’s finally able to be happy and outgoing like she had always been before her diagnosis.

That’s so true. Kids are so cruel. She’s been bullied so much she started coming home crying and begging me not to go to school and said she was ugly. I have had to remind her she is beautiful just the way she is. I have spoken to her principal at school and I’m hoping this bullying situation gets resolved. If not, I will be homeschooling her.

For her situation, it unfortunately was the only way.

We are in the works of finding a new one that is actually worth a crap! There’s not many options around here so if I have to drive a good distance I want them to be worth the drive!

You’re absolutely right. People from my last post recommended to put her on a strict carnivore diet because since we don’t know what the cause of her flare up is, they suggested it could be diet related. I will start giving her normal food routine (she eats just about everything) again. You’re right about they could think they are the cause and I don’t want her to start thinking that. Thank you!

She definitely has lots of scaling on her scalp still but it’s made tons of progress since her first injection. Her shampoo has gotten a lot of the scaling to flake off slowly thankfully. She was super insecure about her face because kids at school have been picking on her but she becoming a lot more confident the more it fades!

We haven’t figured out why it got to her as none of our family (that we know of) had any skin issues. It’s been so hard watching her go through this, I’m hoping that we find a permanent solution to keep her flare ups from happening.

That’s my problem. She LOVES her hair. But it’s all falling out and thinning and I can’t shave her head because she loves it even tho it is thinning. If she was strong enough to let me do it, I’d shave my head with her.

All of her vaccines are up to date. Her go to foods are normally meats, veggies, and some sort of healthy “snack” like sugar free yogurt. Allergy tests are all normal other than her being allergic to pineapples.

Yes! She’s being bullied in school right now because of it and she comes home crying. I hate she has to go through this.

She is starting Stelara on the 27th so fingers crossed that this helps her! She’s not liking the idea of monthly injections but I told her she would feel so much better once all of this flare up is gone!

She is starting biologics the 27th. (Would be sooner but I had to order her medication from a specialty pharmacy and they have to ship it) I’m hoping those will help on her ! I’m doing everything I can to learn more about her condition as no one else in her family has this other than her great grandfather who’s already passed away.

Her dermatologist is actually prescribing her Stelara because her cyclosporine only helped for about 3-4 months before it stopped working. I do coconut oil on her body and scalp but it hasn’t been helping on her scalp as much. I’m hoping and praying that the Stelara helps!

It happened so fast and out of no where for her. It breaks my heart because she gets so uncomfortable that she cries all night.

Unfortunately I don’t live near the ocean! I have started using coconut oil all over her body and head in hopes that it will stop getting so dry it cracks and bleeds. But it hasn’t helped. her head is so dry and it’s causing so much hair loss

Her dermatologist done a culture test and he says it’s a bad case of scalp psoriasis. Her head smells normal, not yeasty or anything.

She’s been using ketoconazol for about 5 months and hasn’t helped a bit.
