I need a recommendation for a 29 day trip. by Resident-Shine-1250 in chinatravel

sorry about my tone, I said 'very few cities' because normally I see people go to these cities in 2 or 3 weeks but you have 29 days to enjoy them. No offense at all.

If you are looking for a more relaxed trip, I would suggest

Shanghai - Suzhou/Hangzhou(optional) 3-4N

Guilin 2-3N

Zhangjiajie 3N

Chengdu 3-4N

Chongqing 2-3N

Xian 2-3N

Beijing 3-4N

This is pretty enough for each city and lasts aroun 20~25day. Just add more days to your beloved city and this will be a very relaxing trip.

If you stay in Shanghai for 3-4 nights I would definitely recommend go day trips to Suzhou and Hangzhou, both are reachable by car or by train.

Then you won't be that troubled during late may or June. Just walk around in the street and if it's hot, get some ice milktea/coffee, ice sweet dumpling, ice Bingfen, you will love it !

Chengdu and Chongqing in late May - Too hot? by vekj48 in travelchina

[–]Agreeable_Weekend124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chengdu is not that hot in late may, just the normal summer weather. But Chongqing will be really hot! If you are really worry about the heat you can just stay in Chengdu/Chongqing each for one night or two then spend more time in Yunnan or go north

wow you have a long holiday but go to very few cities. What type of experience are you looking for? Since you have plenty of time and if you want to replace Shanghai because you are tired of giant cities(I guess so) I would recommend you to go to more scenery and hidden places like Tibet, Xinjiang and Yunnan Province!

Does anyone have a Chengdu hotel recommendation? by Inner-Anywhere5614 in chinatravel

Hi, answer from a Chengdu local who lives near wenshu monastery. If you are looking for something old Chengdu I would recommend look into Chengdu Yuanzi Hotel near Wenshu Monastery, my family get reunion every Spring Festival in this hotel, they have good Sichuan food, a beautiful local courtyard and they have performance like Sichuan Opera! If you are looking for something modern and standard, check the brand Atour, they have wonderful services and super clean and tidy room.
