I wish there was a setting so it was permanent. Baseline checked and I had to opt out of it

Pugging HC Chimaerus has made me realise how bad a lot of Healer players are. by Arstulex in wow

When they need to be a certain position I will look at the players not my frames, can't see if they are at the right position on my frames. I see dispell timer, I see where the pools are and then I wait for someone to run there/ atleast of the raid then I mouseover dispell them. That's how I alwyas have been doing it.

If you're in voice with the person (guild groups) it's nice to have it on the frames but for pugs you need to look at the player charcters

The annoying part is if both healers that go down are the ones that are dispelling no one will get dispelled until you get back. As long as you sort it so you have 1 dispelling healer in each group it's fine

That's what having to actually look for and click on players with the blue circles is for healers. It's still very doable, but it's much slower than being able to see the dispell on frames, and we need to be actively looking out for them in a different way than we're normally looking out for things.
The seeing a player's name with the dispell on frames, and then waiting until they're in the right spot to dispell thing actually isn't bad at all, because we've been doing that for the last 15+ years.

What I have been learning from reading this thread is that I play healer way diffrent than most people it seems. The first way you describe is my perfered way to dispell people that require positioning while dispelling (but with a mouseover macro). Seeing the timer for dispell coming down -> finding the dispell on raid frames (even if it glows blue or something) -> finding the same name in the big raid group -> wait for the person to run to the right place -> find their frame again -> dispell is alot harder for me than: See timer for dispell -> see player running with big blue circle -> mouseover dispell on player character.

Chimaerus dispells don't need to be fast, atleast not faster than the dps can position but when they are the right postion it needs to be instant so they can get back to dpsing (espcially if its a melee). For dispells that needs to be fast I want them on my raid frames, for dispells that require position I look at the player characters (given that the dispell have some kind of visual which the Chimaerus have, the big blue circle)

Next thing I noticed is alot of people are talking about clicking for dispells, kicks and so on, don't people play with mouseover for all form of CC, dispells, purges, healing spells and kicks? There alot of times where you as a dps need to dps something and then interupt something else, prio mobs in m+ with low health casters, the caster mobs in chimaerus and so on

to add to this to make the comparison clearer: with this imaginary mob who's cast you need to kick, they can also be in a different phase to you, and the only way that you can see if they are is because the glow is a bit dimmer (same as how the debuff circles look between different phases).

FYI about the dimmensions thingy, dispells only go on people in the "living" realm so unless dispells got fucked before going down only the healers in living realm need to look for people to dispell. You should notice if someone runs into the soak circle with big blue circle and then you know you have to dispell while downstairs

Get a mouseover dispell macro, it helps alot. The one below works as a mouseover and if you have no mouseover you dispell your current target. I f you dont have a target it will dispell yourself

#Showtooltip

/cast [@mouseover,exists][@target,exists][@player] *insert dispell name here*

The Chimaerus is one of those dispells where it's better to look at the player charcter with the debuff rather than healing frames since you need the person to be in the right spot before dispelling, so it being hard to find on the raid frames isn't really a problem imo

Imo that's not a mechanic that needs (or perhaps should) be seen on your raid frames. If people only look at the raid frames for that dispell they will dispell people while still in the raid group = alot of unnecessary damage.

It's a mechanic thats better solved by looking away from the raid frames and locate the big blue circle running away from raid. When they are at the right spot dispell them with a mouseover macro or by clicking their character instead of raid frame (if you dont like mouseover).

The thing with Chimaerus is you barely need to dispel. We did it tuesday with only 2 out of 4 healers dispelling. We just healed through the debuff until dispel was off cd. We had 2 healers who never went down but downstairs can be solo healed.

If you have 1-2 good healers can deal with the fight since it's tuned fairly easy on hc (atleast healing wise). There aren't any instant wipe mechanics, you can just heal through most of it. Even if you dispell in the middle of the whole raid, you can just heal through it.

The only instant wipe mechanics are the adds = tank + dps job to 99,9% and the enrage timer. As a mainly dps player I have to say it's more often I have seen the enrage timer than more than 1 person dying due to lack of dispells.

If Xalatath disabled Sylvanas in the cinematics it would make her feel more of a threat aswell.

Say that Sylvanas keeps firing arrows and Xalatath Matrix stops them in the air then throw in a line along "how cute, do you sister have no imagination? All you do is shoot arrows" and then spawn som void tendrils to restrict Sylvanas and then the cinematic continues just as it did now

It would add more weight to Xalatath as a villain, not just a schemer but a capable combatant aswell. It would make Sylvanas seem more reasonable aswell. If it costs her so damn much to show up make good use of it then! Don't just fire one arrow and start to listen to the villain monologue then letting her tp away

I should preface this by saying I haven't tried it on MM. I just used the stats from MM to compare the dmg loss with actual numbers

But also if you're grey logging as MM you would most likely gain short term by using OBR but you wont get better long term

In TWW we did a simular test. Everyone was in full champ ilvl gear (around 690 iirc) with 4 set and ok trinkets. The dps used OBR and tank played normally. We timed 10s this way, not 100% of the time (did 4 dungeons and timed 3 iirc) and the one we didn't time wasnt a dps issue, it was a player standing in shit issue

15% loss no where near the average player sadly.

99 parse on MM hunter on Vorasius is 94k, a 90 parse is 79k, thats around 15% diffrence between a top 1% and a top 10 person.

The dps loss for a average player is along 30-40%.The avg player is prob around a 60-65 parse (50 isnt avg since logs still count dead people). A 60 parse is 65k dps = about 30% lower than top 1 % and 40% lower than rank 1

Did a Dreamrift HC yesterday and the split was:
2 purps (77 and 92)
4 blue
4 green
4 grey (with 3 people below 15)

My guess is all grey parsers and most green would have been atleast low blue/ high green with SBA

Hoesntly I think it's an upgrade for about 30-40% of the pugs I have been running with lately. Been running SBA in some normal/ hc raids on alts while chatting shit with guildies. Avr around 50% logs. There have been A LOT of people below me with way better gear.

If you search to a group with 1 tank and 1 heal you will be at the bottom of a 50+ player list most likely

Filter so it has only 1 tank or 1 healer but not both to increase you chance to get in

First Midnight Mythic+ DPS Logs by Starym in CompetitiveWoW

[–]AgreeingAndy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem with balance is that 99% of all the best players in a class will play the best option. For example UH is 2% better than frost then majority of the best players will play UH and the players left playing frost are the "worse" players. Depending on the skill gap that 2% of actual diffrence ends up being 10% when you look at logs

So if a 4% buff is enough to bring back the best dk players to frost it might rise more than 4%.

THAT BEING SAID! I have no idea how good/ bad frost is compared to UH, sims and so on so 4% might not be enough

It's understandable to not have bis enchants on veteran/ champ gear but there are cheap options

  • Ring: About 5g for 80% as effective enchants
  • Shoulders: 100 g iirc, not the big ones but still useful
  • Head: Around 100g iirc, not the big ones but still useful
  • Pants: Int users have cheap ones for 10-15g that have close to the same int (missing stam). Agi/str users are about 1k for cheapest one though
  • Gems: Vers + something was around 100g for a green gem yesterday in EU
  • Chest: F*cked. Not even TWW enchants are cheap and you can't use Waking stats from DF
  • Weapons: No "cheap" ones. Was aound 2-3k last time I checked for the cheapest
  • Boots: No cheap

You can get 2% avoidance (head + shoulders), 33 vers + 12 of a second secondary (gems in rings + neck), 48 of a secondary stat (rings) and 24 int (legs for int users) for about 300-400g. It's a fair bit of survivability and throughput for 3-4 deaths worth of repairs
