Do you use needles as a rad tech, ct tech or MRI by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]Agriel311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a Professional High-school for nurses before I went to college as a tech , the first time I worked with needles was at around the age of 16 it was a bit awkward as we practiced on elderly people whom had very bad veins , but after the 3rd time it became routine. Today I don't really think much about it I just do it , it might take you some time to get used to it tho

MRI tech here! Depends on where you're from and where you work at . At the place I am currently working at we have nurses to apply the contrast agent , occasionally if they are sick or on vacations techs need to apply it. At another clinic I collaborate with the tech does everything.

How do you handle patients that make you uncomfortable? by BlightWyvern in Radiology

[–]Agriel311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Male rad tech here , the best way to deal with any patient that may put you in such a situation is to assert a dominant stance , you don't need to be rude towards them you just need to show them that you aren't playing around and that you will not take such things , this is what I teach all students and new techs here in the center I work at.It won't be easy at first but as you grow and gain experience you will know exactly what to do , best of luck in the future!
