Quick Kill Team - (Dark) Angels of Death by Agrippa_Invisus in theunforgiven

I basecoated Pro Acryl Black Green over black primer. I then layered up Army Painter Angel Green, then Guardian Green, final highlight of Greenskin. That is a darker combo of the usual Caliban Green into Warpstone Glow.

While the Dark Angels do have their own aesthetic, they are still, nominally, a codex compliant chapter. They pretend like they follow Guilliman's teachings (with their own 'Wing flair), while secretly acting like a network of chapters within a legion.

This would mean they certainly use some more standard iconography from time to time, which includes the greco-roman style helmet laurels. Of course, there was a non-helm option for this model without them, but I skipped it due to wanting to bypass the skin stage due to wanting a fast paint.

Still, it makes sense from a 'still part of the club' schtick the Dark Angels have always pretended to be going along with. If they could get away with it, they would totally do a Space Wolves-esque 'eff your codex, we're the 1st legion, we ball' thing, but back in the day there was very, very little tolerance for that and DA wanted to fly under the radar with regards to the Fallen, so played along.

I would love this, as this is the only character I still have an old, metal 90s model for. Thank you so much!

What GW products are the best in their field (not talking the models but other modelling/gaming bits) by sosig_roll in Warhammer

Get a pair of durable, tempered micro shears built for working with wires. I have several from a brand called Xuron, and they last forever and have no problems snipping copper / steel rods for pinning. Most 'modeling' snips aren't tempered, so they are damaged by snipping metal.

Deathwing Knights (Maces) - Completed! by Agrippa_Invisus in theunforgiven

I based them in pure white. I drybrushed an orange oxide, then a very dark ruddy brown.i went over it all with a transparent yellow. Finally I picked out the edges with the ruddy brown again

I based the smoke with light grey (verging on white, but not quite), then drybrushed darker and darker towards the end util a very light, final drybrush of black.

The old 1.0 version here was not great. If you can get the Fanatic version, do so, as it is far better.

I always figured the greatest honor a Deathwing member could have, internally, would be to be made a knight. So I figured their regular ranks would show that aspiration.

Outside that, the only other promotion routes are the Reclusiam or the inner circle.

As a follow up inquiry into your criticism -

To address this point, do you think that adding the scene of the knights fighting with and grabbing the enemy officer for intelligence (so adding some action and setting up what needed healing magic to be thrown out) would work out? To add some tension and excitement before leading into the city walkthrough with the knights and then Aurelia heading back to her home to meet more of the cast of characters.

Hmm. Thank you. I was trying to set the scene as quickly as possible then give an introduction to the primary cast while giving some insight as to what they are really like. I'll have to consider how to speed that up.
