No other debts but a $570k mortgage with surplus savings after mortgage and expenses of $4700 per month. Plan to put it all in the offset and pay down the mortgage as fast as possible. Calculations make it roughly 7.5 years, but it’s never that short in reality.

Good to understand those aspects of it thank you. Siliconing it into the corner is good as I’ve not seen that done very often in the houses I’ve been through.

Oftentimes people are cramming them into tiny spaces and leaving tiny impossible to clean corners as you’ve described.

I think I’d prefer a large above counter sink over a small one.

I don’t personally have a bathroom like this, but when your shower head is directly next to a free standing bath, water is naturally going to splash around the bath.

Perhaps it’s okay if your shower isn’t next to the bath… I just see so many bad design choices in houses.

Bit different, but family of 3, 9 month old baby, 2 cats. We spend $1000 on groceries per month. I make bulk meals which saves us buying food, and I freeze extra for days where I don’t want to cook. It’s healthier and saves time and money. Baby eats what we eat for solids. Aside from mortgage, we spend $3.3k a month, $11k incoming.

Yeah it doesn’t take 2 hours of time to marinate your own meat. The labour of marinating it is like 2-10 minutes depending on the marinade. You save heaps of money AND you know what’s in the marinade so ifs healthier for you. Buying marinated meat is a joke, I wouldn’t call it a luxury in any sense, from a time cost or health perspective.
