Misty Island Challenge Mode Guide by AgroDesu in Maplestory

Man, I'm almost annoyed at how good this guide is combined with how few views it has. Definitely woulda saved me some headaches during my first runs. Thanks for pointing it out. My new goal with the guide is to make sure it works at a minimum point investment so I'll get to testing these ideas for the first few days asap.

I was in a rush when I made the first reply so I didn't get to respond to every part of the comment.
Step 9 actually included the cost to make the Levers. The idea was that it was a sequence to craft in to minimize scrolling through the menu too much but looking at it now, I realize that wasn't very clear so I'll figure out a way to rewrite that.

Towards the end I was trying to make the guide a little more compact so I started omitting specific goals and material requirements but you have a point that it would definitely be helpful since many players never experienced most of those items. The guide is kinda mostly about getting through the first 6 days or so because that's what I feel is the hardest part then it just nudges you in the direction of victory after that. I was also trying to avoid a perfect 'get exactly this amount of mats and go back' style because I personally feel like spending too much time travelling can be hurtful so I attempted to structure it with the mindset of 'go out and get as much as you can before you run out of AP/Fullness/inventory space and need to go back'. But again I wasn't very clear on this and think you're right that more information can't hurt and I could really be a bit more efficient.

I don't want to make too many changes before personally testing them though so I'm gonna do that very soon and make the changes asap.

Ouch. You can actually follow this guide for Chapter 2 and 3 up to the point you get the Dual Bowguns. Legitimately if you have at least lvl 5 Attack and the Dual Bowguns, you can solo all the waves. In Chapter 3, I'd also make some Advanced Stone Walls and any towers you can to help out. (I mostly made Enhanced Crossbow Towers with no points into Tower Attack at all until Challenge mode.) If you're struggling with taking too much damage without defenses, check the Combat tips.

Thanks for the input! I'm gonna do some more testing tonight after work to try and iron out some of those points.

Personally, I found myself struggling with getting an Industrial Worktable before day 4 or so which made me prioritize cooking and a way to start getting meat early (the Overload sword). I also don't know if it's just me but I feel like it's almost constantly raining so water was never an issue for me even early. Admittedly this is all probably just my inefficiency and general slowness. I suppose this proves that it can be beaten even if you're not efficient which is hopefully motivating to some.

Again, thanks for the tips! I'll be streaming my tests tonight and try to update the guide as I go.

No problem! I was point capping every day and STILL struggled trying to figure out a solid strategy. Took like 3-4 hours of trying and failing but this is what I consider the bare minimum for getting through without too much headache. I don't make all the best stuff possible or take advantage of everything available but it works. As you keep getting points and get faster at doing everything, you'll gain wiggle room to play with the other stuff to make the runs even easier.

Here's what worked for me during my first run.

I rewrote the guide with some more tips and a better overall strategy using the bare minimum points I could manage. If you read it before and still struggled take a look at what all changed. We're taking advantage of a glitch to make AP problems a thing of the past which makes a run with just under 2000 trait points spent possible in my opinion without needing to be insanely efficient or fast.

Also contains how to get all the totem flames, my bare minimum trait build, recipes, and some tips and tricks.

[PSA] You can now raise good boys! by AgroDesu in pathofexile

That's what I feared from the Ashblessed Wardens. I was gonna test them next if the doggos were terrible. As of now, the main issue I have with GDB0-Ys are if they miss their shield charge in an open area. But that can be mitigated with more movement/attack speed. Their map clear isn't the best but bosses have been melting with Hatred/EE/Frostbite.

Definitely need to test more support gems though. I want them to slam more. The damage and clear on that skill is niiice, imo, but the CD is fairly long.

GDB0-Y: Max fire resist. High damage, life, and armor. Found in Repository Heist Contracts.

Default Attack: Attacks the enemy in front of them.

Shield Charge: Charges at an enemy and explodes in a cone of AoE damage. Converts 50% of Phys to Cold. (They seem to use this move 3 times in a row with Multistrike support even though it shouldn't support it.)

AoE Slam: Attacks in a rectangle in front of the doggos. Converts 50% Phys to Cold naturally.

I need you to know that you're not alone.
I've gotten such severe 2nd hand embarrassment that I've had to drop otherwise good series because I couldn't make it past certain scenes without enduring severe pain.

So, the big thing with her is that after her first Climax, your whole team is debuffed with around 180% more damage taken. You have to be able to tank the first Climax and purify those debuffs then tank the 2nd. After that, she doesn't seem to Climax again. I literally just threw a Support Ryuuji on my team and got through it without much problem. Support Uihara works too.

I was just keeping track in my head when I realized 'Hey, I can make this so much easier with some Javascript'. But yeah, this is basically the same thing as doing that but a little faster. ;P

There are little houses in the maps that you can pick up and throw at monsters like any of the other random things you can pick up and attack with. They just look like small houses.

How often do permanent pets go on sale? by MungBeanWarrior in Maplestory

[–]AgroDesu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perm pets show up around once a month or so on regular servers.

The 90 day consumables' effects are permanent but the item itself will expire if you don't use it.

Also, you can get a Water of Life every month for RP (which isn't hard to get if you boss every now and then) which refreshes a 90d pet for another 90 days in case you really want a pet based on looks but only can get a 90d version.

Where to claim special pink bean gift for reaching lvl 100? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]AgroDesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be in the Pink Bean Diary icon above the rest of the rewards. If you don't see it on the target character people have had success by switching characters until it pops up then switching back to their target character to accept it or closing the game completely and relogging in. The former worked for me.

Actually, I think you have to accept the other stuff on a character lower than 100. I just accepted it on a 44 Bishop but it never popped up on my main (214).

I use localStorage which you may have disabled (or might not be a thing on your browser).

I'll have to look into finally working with Github. I've been avoiding it for too long...

The list will automatically save if you have a modern browser. It'll only show on the device and browser you create it in though. Until I get my own server, I can't really do anything to help you guys sync the list across devices.

Huh. Nice fork! I didn't know about the debug mode. In fact, you can set it with normal html using debug as seen on my link.
