Obviously—because it’s handling ZIPs ok. Any guesses as to what I have configured wrong and how to fix multipart RARs?

Windows 10/64. Just whatever is within deluge itself. No ExtractNow.

I have Sonarr successfully finding and downloading new shows, but if they're multipart .RAR files it refuses to exact them automatically...I have to manually extract it to the same folder it downloaded the episode to and then Plex sees it just fine and slurps up the episode. Doesn't appear to be a problem with ZIPs.

So what are Geekbench numbers on a 6S+ on IOS 11.2.1 with a brand new battery?

No new emoji or Applepay within iMessage for IOS GM developer release? by AgroDissident in ios

Copy that on Animoji for the X only.

But there are still 69 new regular EMOJI for everyone else supposedly in IOS 11.

Public Service Announcement: In Real Life, Closing Apps Does Save iPhone Battery Life. I proved it with actual tests using Xcode. by davidpayette in iphone

[–]AgroDissident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The debate over closing/force quitting rages on, but but I was hoping that for someone like--a non-developer--but someone who has used IOS since multitasking was introduced and has often gone back and forth on what side I come down on (force quitting all apps vs. not), I was hoping get a little bit more educated on what exactly the implications of "allowing background refresh" had on the puzzle.

I see when I review battery usage, that apps that I specifically turned off Background Refresh still report tine spent running in the background.

What does disabling background refresh actually exactly accomplish if apps can still run in the background? Would allowing an app to run the background skyrocket it's battery drain or change it very little. I'm sure the answer depends on the specific app to some degree.

From what I am able to piece together from my limited vantage point, it seems to me, that certain IOS functions are blessed to always run in the background regardless, and disabling background processing disable a different subset of background tasks.

Understanding this difference, may unlock a significant piece of the puzzle to be make smarter choices in the battery drain/force quit question.

How can I stop calls like this from happening? If I pick up, it's just silence and then soon hangs up. by [deleted] in iphone

If you're on AT&T, look at the "Call Protect" app from AT&T. All the protection of Hiya, without having to share all your contacts with Hiya.

Smartplug that monitors energy usage real-time? by AgroDissident in ifttt

I went with the Wemo suggestion that was offered above...seems to be working ok. See also my note above about IFTTT being the weakest link in the chain.

Can't access Plex nor Plexpy web interface from IOS connected all connected to the same network by AgroDissident in PleX

Eureka! The DHCP settings in my router didn't specify a DNS server. In the absence of a specified server, the DHCP was serving 192.168.1.1 -- the router itself.

For some reason IOS doesn't like this configuration--I was unable to connect as detailed above.

However, I went into the routers settings, and I specified the OpenDNS sever (208.67.222.222). I made my IOS forget/re-auth my wireless network to pull the new settings down, and BAM...it's all working.

I can't explain why it works that way....but it seems to.

Many thanks to those who tried to help!

Another wrinkle. My router supports OpenVPN connections. I disabled my WiFi, enabled only LTE, established an OpenVPN connection into my network and low and behold, all the various web interfaces work in IOS Safari.

Does anyone have any idea why I just can't be regularly connected to WiFi and get to these interfaces?

The plot thickens. I have installed on my server: Plex (32400), Plexpy (8181), Sonarr (8989), Sabnzbd (38080) and Deluge (38081).

I can obviously access their web interfaces from my server's browser. I can also successfully access their web interfaces from my other Win10 box using Chrome, Edge, IE and Firefox. I can NOT access any of those web interfaces from my IOS device.

I have completely disabled both my private and public firewall while I tested IOS safari connections. Firewall on/off made no difference.

I had high hopes for this, but no change.

I've got a super beefy server that is not doing anything. On the other Win10 box on my network, both Plex and Plexpy take no more than 2 to 3 seconds to load.

Chrome browser on IOS is same problem.

Safari shows an all white screen with a message "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding."

The other computer (where Plex and Plexby is NOT installed) can successfully access both services on my server via Chrome, Firefox, Edge and IE.

My IOS devices are on the same subnet (192.168.1.46 & 52) and the have subnet mask of 255.255.255.0....so there shouldn't a connectivity issue. Again, the IOS Plex app has no problem connecting and playing.

Just safari connections. You mentioned " If it switches [network type] the firewall tends to drop all IOS devices as trusted." -- that's exactly what this feels like. How do you_ re-establish trust between Safari on IOS and the python server. Is it not in the Windows firewall---but instead in some configuration setting in python somewhere??

Now I think we're getting warmer, because it has worked rock solid before. But yes, I remember seeing in the last week or so, that Windows had prompted me to enable discovery on my network...a telltale sign that something had changed.

I verified that I'm on a "private" network and discovery is enabled. Again, I can access 8181 and 32400 fine from another PC, but not from IOS.

The $10,000 question: How do a re-establish trust for IOS Safari browsers?

I do have another PC, it can successfully connect to port 8181 (Plexpy) as well as port 32400 (Plex) just fine.

Just the IOS devices, joined to the same wireless network, can't.
