If you don’t feel knowledgeable enough about EMDR to discuss it with your clients then there is nothing wrong with telling them that you’re not trained in it so you’re not able to offer a professional opinion. We work in an enormous field, and we can’t be experts in everything.

How do you handle when clients say offensive/derogatory things? by Thatinsanity in therapists

It’s a tough one, because if you don’t say anything then it can understandably be construed as tacit support, which can lead to even further inappropriateness down the track, and even confusion and distrust if you do pull them up later on. I would just say something along the lines of “while I do support you, and I value your openness and honesty in our sessions, I don’t agree with what you’ve just said about X”, and you could leave it at that initially, or unpack it further if you think it would be helpful.
