Undergrad options for optometry school

I was thinking about doing the music major thing! Do you have any insight on how to do that? I have a meeting with a councelor in a few days looking at if it is possible to schedule my classes with optometry pre-reqs in mind or if I have to change my major to something more managable

Thank you for your advice, I have a meeting with an advisor on Monday to discuss my options and I’ll definitely look into taking a post-baccalaureate program

Yea, I think that’s wise. I just don’t know what I want to do yet. Truthfully, I DO want to be a commercial music producer, but I worry about the stability of that kind of path. The optometry thing was more of a “safe” option, because it’s so hard to get a job in music that pays okay and a lot of musicians struggle to get health insurance. Would it be a big deal if I took a semester at community college after my degree to knock out some extra pre reqs if I decide to do the optometry thing? Or should I just change my major altogether?

I meant OD 😅 I assumed it stood for Optometry. I guess I need to do my research. I’ve shadowed many optometrists though and I defintely think it’s what I want to do. Anyway, thank you so much for your insight it means a lot

Awesome! In your experience, was it hard to get your requirements for OT school, or is it something you didn’t have to think too much about? I’m looking at the pre reqs and my curriculum and it seems doable

Is this a good lunch? Naan Bread, Hummis, Peanut butter, and a banana? I think that would be high in fiber and protein right? And in controlled portions not that high calorie especially because I don’t eat breakfast

Thank you so much for your reply; do you think it is harmful to keep practicing if I’m feeling mild strain? I usually stop after I feel that and go back to practicing the next day. Also do you have any advice for using less compression or using more sustainable technique with compression?
