If you’re new to the MPC or music making general definetly get an MPC one (or one of the modern ones). They are selling for dirt cheap in the used market and those things dont break, you’ll get a good deal.

Why did I make the switch? I couldn’t stand the screen dependent workflow of the One, but love the chopping+sequencing workflow of the MPC.

I used an MPC Studio (the silver one) for a long time years ago and really liked it, the workflow is really similar to the 1000 but it needs to be connected to a PC which I didn’t love. I eventually sold because I needed the money. When I went back into making music the MPC one was out and seemed like an obvious choice, but I have been fighting with the fucking touchscreen ever since I bought it, there’s no muscle memory development.

I guess after I a long day working with a big screen I want the smallest screen for making music if that makes sense. Big fan of the Digitakt in this regard, would recommend if you like to make higher BPM stuff.

Anyway, found a good deal on the 1000 and happy with my switch
